MR. MACINTOSH23  TheCause, I agree with VeryCarla. You have a GB/GBC emulator that has 100% perfect compatibility, can emulate ALL! GB/GBC hardware, has BOTH! perfect sound & full screen support, IT'S FREEWARE!!!! and all you can do is complain that it's not to your likings? The original developer/Richard Bannister made KiGB to suit EVERYONE'S LIKINGS, NOT JUST YOUR LIKINGS ALONE! You need to grow up and start appreciating mac softare like this MORE OFTEN!!! 'cause what if this was shareware? YOU EVER THINK OF THAT?!! THINK ABOUT KIGB LIKE SHAREWARE AND THEN THINK AGAIN BEFORE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!

MR. MACINTOSH23  If you already read my lastest review on Visualboy Advance, you probably know what I am going to say, if not, here it is: Boycott Advance is great! It has loads of features (with Emulator Enhancer installed), and it can emulate Metroid Zero Mission and Fusion and Spider Man Mysterio's Menace so good, it actually feels like you're playing them on the real Gameboy Advance. Visualboy Advance and Boycott Advance together, you can emulate ANY! GBA ROM.

MR. MACINTOSH23  VISUALBOY ADVANCE IS AWESOME!!! All the other reviews I posted that said VBA was crappy, those are FAKE! I finally realized it that using both Visualboy Advance and Boycott Advance, you can emulate all GBA games. Also, one other user convinced me that VBA 1.7.3 is the best version to have on Mac OS X because all of the ROM crashing problems have all been wiped out. Thank you to whoever posted that review about VBA 1.7.3. My default GBA emulator will always be VBA, but I will always use Boycott Advance whenever necessary.

MR. MACINTOSH23  I have finally put my GBA emulator problems to rest once and for all. Visualboy Advance is good, but it just doesn't suit my requirements for a good, realistic emulator; (saying that took some guts). I've read numerous reviews about Visualboy Advance and how loads of people have had numerous saving problems, so I have trashed Visualboy Advance, all of the backups I made, and the .dmg installer files and have finally made the final GBA emulator transition to Boycott Advance. In English: VISUALBOY ADVANCE DOESN'T SUIT MY EMULATOR NEEDS, BOYCOTT ADVANCE DOES. Email me at spyrokid@dejazzd.com if you want more info on why I have chosen Boycott Advance over Visualboy Advance.

MR. MACINTOSH23  On my G4 eMac, Boycott Advance pops into the dock, and runs like a charm, regardless of whatever version it is. I am running Mac OS X v10.4.11. When I was running Mac OS X v10.3.9 on my old G3 iMac, this same thing happened, but it only did it to the Tiger releases. I know you're running either Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard, because the word "Intel" didn't even exist with Mac OS X Panther. Before, Boycott Advance was only PPC-based, but then Richard Bannister updated it to Universal Binary, thus I think your problem is, you're probably running a "PPC only" version of Boycott Advance. Try downloading Boycott Advance v0.3.9 and see if that works. If not, then I'd advised you to stay away from GBA emulation FOR GOOD!

MR. MACINTOSH23  I think VBA will be updated, it's just that Adam Green currently doesn't have enough developers to continue updating VBA. When that happens, VBA will be updated to Universal Binary. Why are you using VBA on your MBP? Use Boycott Advance. It's Universal Binary, but there's a Battery RAM problem, thus use the Freeze/Defrost function until the Gameboy Advance is no longer on commercial sale, which probably won't be for a VERY! LONG! time.

MR. MACINTOSH23  This is the BEST!!! On my old G3 iMac, it worked flawlessly, then my brother Nathan Weaver, told me it MAY! not work on my G4 eMac, but I took it as "doesn't work at all." 1. because he's always right about mac stuff, and 2. because he researches things very, very good, thus I thought he came across something that said "Zydas WiFi Max Reciver does NOT! work on eMacs." thus, that's why I thought Ralink was better, but apparently not, because it couldn't even connect to our Linksys Wireless Router without the encrypted security off, which would be very, very, very, very, BAD!!! Anyway, Zydas ROCKS!!!

It's the ONE AND ONLY WAY!!! to connect to the internet wirelessly on an eMac.

My next post will contain step-by-step instructions on getting internet connection with the WiFi Reciever. DO NOT REPLY JUST TO SAY "IT'S ATHEROS, NOT ZYDAS

One more thing... RALINK IS FREAKIN BULL-****.

MR. MACINTOSH23  Ralink is freakin' BULL-****. It couldn't even connect to my Linksys wireless router because of the security password. I got it to connect numerous times, but every single time I shut down my eMac, it would always go kaput on me at startup, so I choose to use my old Zydas WiFi Max Recivier and it worked in 5 minuities.

Anyway, I will give this thing 1 bull-**** star anyday.

Use Zydas on an eMac, NOT RALINK!!!

MR. MACINTOSH23  My first reply on this review is wrong. What your problem is, locon, you're using v1.7.2 of Visualboy Advance, which is the crappy version of VBA. In v1.7.2 of VBA, there are all kinds of majorly, buggy problems, like you need to choose a flash size that works with all of your ROMS. Plus, when you exit full screen, it crashes on you. What my point is, locon, trash v1.7.2 of Visualboy Advance, and upgrade to v1.7.4, because all of the major kinks and bugs are all worked out, plus no crashing when exiting full screen mode, new preferences layout, and it's in sync with it's PC counterpart, v1.7.2 isn't synced with it's PC counterpart at all. Email me at spyrokid@dejazzd.com if you want to thank me!

MR. MACINTOSH23  You don't know good software when you see it. Boycott Advance may not have built-in full screen/joystick support, but for some people, they don't give a hooty-pooty about those two things. All they would ever care about is if it can emulate the GBA as accurate as possible. Even if they would have to play with the keyboard, they wouldn't give a crap about it having built-in full screen/joystick support. So... BE GRATEFUL THAT RICHARD BANNISTER PORTED SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO THE MAC. IF HE DIDN'T, THEN WE WOULD ALL BE STUCK WITH CRAPPY OL' VISUALBOY ADVANCE

SO... BE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRATEFUL!!!!!!!!

MR. MACINTOSH23  Boycott Advance ROCKS!!! When I tried running v0.3.9 along with v2.2.1 of Emulator Enhancer, I couldn't save at all. I mean, it did save, but when I closed it, all of the saved data vanished. Late last night, I finally figured out why it wasn't working for me. It was something with The Shell. Until Richard Bannister starts working on Boycott again, I'm sticking with the October 5, 2005 release of it and Emulator Enhancer v1.6.0 I'm also going to do the same thing with KiGb.

Anyway, Boycott Advance and KiGB ROCK!!!

I'd give it 5 stars any day

VBA SUCKS LIKE FREAKIN' BULL-****.

MR. MACINTOSH23  I just found out why Boycott Advance wasn't working for me. There was a major bug problem in The Shell. The bug problem was... with Emulator Enhancer installed, the battery RAM and the freeze states wouldn't work properly, thus you couldn't properly save AT ALL! in KiGB or Boycott Advance, that's why I turned to Visualboy Advance because there are NO! saving problems at all. Now that I figured it out, the next review I post is going to be a review about Boycott Advance & Visualboy Advance, the differences between the two, and why Boycott Advance is SO much better than Visualboy Advance

MR. MACINTOSH23  I love Visualboy Advance. At first, I thought Boycott Advance was better, but then I realized that VBA is much, much better. On my old G3 iMac (I now have a G4 eMac), one day, my pokemon silver battery file vanished. That was when I thought VBA was crappy. I then realized that VBA is much better, because if you open and close a game a lot, the battery file will vansih, thus that's how I came across Boycott Advance & KiGB.

Anyway, VBA rocks. I'll give it 5 stars any day.

MR. MACINTOSH23  Step-by-Step Instructions on running Visualboy Advance for Mac OS X WITHOUT ANY! saving problems

1. download, unzip, and mount the disk image.

2. drag the WHOLE FOLDER (don't remove anything) into Applications folder.

3. download Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure (http://www.shadyroms.com) and unzip it into Documents using Stuffit Expander.

4. open Visualboy Advance and run Crash Bandicoot.

5. after the logo screens, pre-game intro, and new game intro, either push start on your joystick or return on the keyboard.

6. go to the save game screen and choose one of the save slots.

7. exit the save/load screen, then close both the ROM & VBA

8. enter the "Battery Saves" folder and the .sav file will be there.

9. Open VBA again, run Crash Bandicoot, click on "Load Game" and VOILA! the saved data will be there. DONE! YOU'RE ALL SET UP!!! enjoy VBA.

P.S. When you're done with the saving setup, every time you load a savable ROM, "wrote battery" will pop up briefly during the logo screens, telling you that the .sav file has been created, thus every time after that, "wrote battery" will pop up, telling you your save progress has been written to the battery file.

I don't know why Adam Green made the saving setup so freakin' complicated, I think he was just striving to develop the most mature, complex GB/GBC/GBA emulator avaliable for Mac OS X.

P.S P.S IT TOOK ME THREE DAYS TO FIGURE THIS OUT, SO BE VERY GRATEFUL THAT I FIGURED OUT HOW TO PROPERLY SAVE IN VBA!
