Orbiter | Nov 3 2008 |
MITCH BICQUET This application has seen 5 updates since it's release 2 weeks ago - all listed on macupdate front page. I'm all for frequent updat, but when the changes are so minor, can't the developpers group them and make a release every couple of weeks? it's also a hassle for users to download a new version every couple of days. I appreciate your concern and thank you for leaving a comment. We value our users and want them to have the very best possible version of Orbiter if they so choose. That's why, you can opt to only download major updates (which there has not been any yet: 1.2 will be the first) You can also choose NOT to be notified of ANY updates. So, it really is your choice, if you want to run the latest version or not. We think, frequent updates are good and our users like it. If we were to hold off on our updates then we would not be addressing crucial stability and performance issues as they are reported. I hope you like Orbiter, and please remember to change your update notification settings to "Major Updates Only" that way you won't be bothered. - Developer (Version 1.1.7)

MITCH BICQUET This definitely looks like unfinished, unpolished software. Address book parsing is ugly and shows a lot of null null data and is hard to navigate. selecting smsdiscount no account would not allow me to click ok until i fill in an account also this would be good as a dashboard widget. RapidWeaver | Oct 22 2008 |
MITCH BICQUET Very happy new user (2 months) impressed by power and flexibility, have been using for personal and some small scale commercial websites - the rapid result process is unparalleled. Excellent plugins community, very easy and powerful rapid editing and publishing. I understand the concerns about data migration though, the project files being proprietary, and hope this won't disappoint me in the future. It's true that it can do much more than iweb, but what iweb can do it does better and especially without the concern for extreme rigidity and lack of flexibility that iweb offers so if you are using iweb for personal sites- definitely check it out if you want to play with an extended ste of elegant features. MesaSQLite | Oct 22 2008 |
MITCH BICQUET Unfortunately I cannot conccur with the reviews below. The program looks fine but has oo many random bugs during editing to be usable. this is on Macbook with 10.5.5 and all latest updates. I tried creating 5 tables, then in 1 of the tables about 12 fields of different types. I Got random errors, exception not handled, SQl errors when trying to rename tables, change types for fields. Simple example: create table Master, hit enter - commit. create some table Fields double click on Master, change M to m lower case, click enter - all your fields just disappeared. You must close and reopen the DB. Also at one point it corrupted my DB( created datecreated field, left the type blank to think if I wanted date or timestamp, make a search in firefox (loose focus) come back to app - change to timestamp - error. When I reopen the database the whole table is gone! So, looks promising, but stay away for now until those basic things are fixed. (Version 1.7.6)

HoudahGeo | Oct 22 2008 |
MITCH BICQUET Excellent software that does many things right. I'm a registered user. However I have 2 major gripes with it: 1. Concerning aperture integration, it only modifies the exif files of the local version, not the master. Thus if you make further image manipulation you will lose any info added by houdah. 2. It should have an interpolation technique (linear should be easy enough) to interpolate missing positions between 2 known positions. This allows to only activate and track with the gps once in a while on a long trip instead of having to constantly have the tracking device on in the field. I should add that the developper is very willing to hep and quick to respond to inquiries. Keep up the good work. (Version 1.4.13)

PIERRE BERNARD Thanks for the feedback. 1. Aperture integration will be vastly improved in HoudahGeo 2.0. We are only days away from releasing this free upgrade. 2. HoudahGeo does perform time based extrapolation between track points. HoudahGeo 2.0 will let you adjust limits applied to extrapolation. Excessive extrapolation may result in nonsensical values. TranslateIt! Deluxe | Oct 22 2008 |
MITCH BICQUET Beware. !! STRONG PRIVACY BREACH !! But its own admission (see privacy policy on web site), and from user's review on forums, use of an unauthorized serial number will make the application transfer your private data (data from your address book and contacts application, identity, etc...) to their servers for "further investigation". As a software developer myself, I understand the concerns for piracy but such behavior from another developer can only provoke distrust and escalate the fight against piracy. Please avoid at all cost those practices. (Version 9.7.0B9704)

UNCLEMIF Ok. We understood our mistake. So, please don't worry about your privacy anymore. From today, our server side scripts has disabled catching for disputable private information while pirated license is detected. Also Privacy Policy document is modified from 12 November 2009. To fully close this question, next release of TranslateIt! will be distributed without "MainAddressBookEntry/OnlyOnPiratedLicenseFound" module too. However, callhome feature will be still there as in 90% of software products exist on market. The main goal to verify & block pirated licenses online. (Version 11.0 build 11098)
