MIKE RATT 38 files in the folder 'aMule 2.2.2?. WTF? I only see an App called 'aMule' and is compiled under PPC (come on, we're in 2008) architecture.

MIKE RATT themes? Yeah, this sounds very 90's. Gimme a solid UI that respect the Apple Guidelines. The first (don't forget it, Opera fans) is: "Users will learn your application faster if the interface looks and behaves like applications they’re already familiar with", not to mention: "Your application will have the same modern, elegant appearance as other Mac OS X applications". http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/XHIGIntro/chapter_1_section_1.html A THEME must be a CHOICE, not a NEED. MIKE RATT ok, nice IU & concept, but... Same .torrent (tested one hour each one). Transmission: 6-12 kB/s X-D So.. if you want FAST downloads instead of a cool and lightweight cocoa app design, you know what to choose. So simple. (Version 0.82)

In terms of UI speed I really like muCommander: http://www.mucommander.com/ A java cross-platform file manager that can access to FTP and SFTP. You can navigate very fast with the keyboard, view the same server in the two panes, built in compressor/uncompressor and many other great features, but honestly, is not a powerful FTP application. In Windoze, you know... WS_FTP Pro, FTP Commander or CuteFTP: http://www.cuteftp.com/cuteftppro/tour.aspx Transmit is a good choice, but is not the panacea. (Version 2.8)

Cyberduck | Sep 15 2007 |
1. Posibility of view the same server path in two panels at time, like I said. 2. Resumable (very large files) downloads/uploads. 4. email notifications for uploads. 5. Tree view (two views at time). Transmit is great, I agree with you, but not perfect. (Version 2.8)

MIKE RATT The applications in Mac OS X (we are not in OS 7/8/9, thank Spaghedeity), should be easier to use for novices, but POWERFUL for the rest. We work in Unix, people!. A nice interface and easy to use app without power is useless. Transmit have anything that a simple user need, but forget some extra features that their software requires. Cyberduck?. Good soft wih bad IU planning. Like Apple Finder.

MIKE RATT I agree. Need two panels, but TWO OPERATIVE PANELS, not one panel for HD *only* and other for server *only*. I would like to view my server in the two panels for internal transfers. There serveral FTP for Windoze than do this. (Version 2.8)

Coda | Oct 12 2007 |
TERSONO D'oh. you've missed the whole point. Yes, you can use it as a BBEdit replacement if you wish, but it is so much more than that (and I'm speaking as a professional web developer and registered user of BBEdit since version 4). Coda's strength lies in terms of workflow. Previously I'd have BBEdit (or latterly TextMate), Interarchy, CSSEdit, a finder window, at least one terminal window, Photoshop and Safari open continuously. Even with expose and dual screens, switching between apps becomes a pain in a hurry. Coda allows me to rationalise this down to two apps only; Coda and Photoshop, improving my productivity generally. (Version 1.0.4)

Coda | Nov 21 2007 |
NEUTRALZONE "...a BBEdit for novices." That implies that professionals wouldn't benefit from integrated feedback and efficient workflow! A typical "high priest" type of comment. Making things easier doesn't necessarily have to dumb them down...if you don't believe that, you don't believe in the Mac. I code in TextWrangler right now, but I think I'm going to get Coda. This is Reggie the Developer...thank you for your post. I appreciate the work that you did as it will only help AppDelete to become better... First you are right about not having a preview of the files. AppDelete has a slightly different approach when organizing the files in the trash and having an Undo function. But with that being said AppDelete will include a preview feature in the future...probably with a slightly different approach than the competition to keep it as "original" as possible... Now about finding only 1 file it's a very interesting test you did. When I first saw it I said to myself maybe AppZapper got the better of AppDelete in this one. But if you look closely AppDelete might be more accurate after all...why? I'm not a RapidWeaver user I must admit...but if you have RapidWeaver 3.5 (not the beta) the associated files have exactly the same name as the ones that were deleted with the Beta in your screenshot. So let's say I have the Beta and I just installed the new Version 3.5 (non-beta) and I want to delete the Beta version. In your example it would take the files which appear to be "shared" and are now being used by the regular non-beta version. Which would be a mistake right? Does that make sense? Anyways I'm not trying to start anything with this but as I took the time to investigate this is what I found. It would be great to get your feedback on this...thanks again for your post! :D

REGGIE ASHWORTH Hi again Mike! :D Thanks for the reply! Though AppDelete handles deleting the files slightly different it's a good point what you make about the preview. Microsoft Messenger | Sep 28 2006 |
