A link is provided in the "ReadMe-IMPORTANT" file that comes with the software. It sends you here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html About halfway down the page are download links for the VLC web browser plug-in. |

Download link goes to a 404. Download link on the developer's site also goes to a 404. :-P |

Sometimes, yes it does. They can catch you by matching your IP to your registration info with your service provider, obtained by search warrant. Easy fix: don't pirate software. |

Version 2.8.3 came out today (4/26) on the developer's site and is compatible with Safari 3.1.1. |

This should be flagged as "Tiger 10.4 Only" instead of "10.4 or later". The "later" is the 0.5.1 version for Leopard that I mentioned earlier. |

Strange - the listing for DVD Hunter 0.5.1 is just a few down from this listing for Dvd Hunter 0.3.6. Mistake? |

1.5 version seems to be broken - now just says "analyzing" with the activity wheel spinning. Whoops. Nifty when it works, though. |

I'll be damned if I can find a Universal Binary version - all of the download links from SourceForge identify the app on the DMG as a PowerPC app. |

Maybe you should hate when your kids download music and software illegally, as that is what LimeWire does. |

Still, is there a good reason why PithHelmet doesn't work unless Safari is in Applications and not a subfolder? |

I get this when running the installer: "Error Reading Package There was an error while evaluating JavaScript for the package." |

Update on the Developer's Site: "There a number of reports about the plugin just not loading. It's releated to the embedded SIMBL installer. Running the actual SIMBL installer should fix it. I'm disabling the download until I can get it right." |

I get a weird focus-flashing problem between VideoBox and Safari when downloading files - like Leopard can't seem to figure out which program should be given the focus "darkened window" foreground window. Otherwise it works flawlessly. Good work! |

Hazel is one of those things that really makes the Macintosh a better platform. It's especially useful if you're into the GTD concept, as it does a lot of stuff automatically with easy setup that would otherwise be somewhat complex using Automator or Folder Actions. |

Just drag it into the toobar to put it there. That works with any file, by the way. |

There's a version 3.3 that works on iTunes 7.3. Earlier versions do not - see the previous post. To get 3.3, just go to the developer's site. Makes me wonder what the process is for MacUpdate to update their entries... |

For the previous commenter: I updated to Mac OS X 10.4.10 using the incremental version updater (instead of the combo updater) and UNO survived the update, so if you're losing UNO when you update, you're probably witnessing the combo updater re-installing the system resources that UNO replaces. UNO does what Apple apparently has decided is the right thing to do in Leopard - makes everything look the same with the "unified" interface. Good job, folks! |

Developer's site says that the 3.0a1 version is for Safari 3.0 Beta only - it does not work with Safari 2.0.4 as stated here. If you're using Safari 2.x, the old version (2.0b17) is the one you want. |

Download link is directly to a .app - this is a major no-no, as it will come up as a page of text in Safari, or as an HTML file when downloaded with an option-click. Consider compressing into a .zip archive or placing on a .dmg disk image. |

Excellent for what it does. Lovely interface. One slight "bug": video thumbnails don't refresh when new searches are done - they remain the same as the original search. This can make visually identifying the content of newly searched videos difficult if not impossible without downloading the video. Otherwise, good job! |

I am a registered user. For about half a year now, Acquisition yields few if any search results. Lately, with version 131.3, there are no results whatsoever. Gnutella isn't being blocked by my cable modem provider, as both Cabos and Acqlite yield results. Acquisition has gotten prettier since the 120 version, but has ceased to work in any useful way. |
