MEGAMOOSE  To the earlier reviewer who was wondering how this is different than Flex, AIR allows developers to write stand-alone applications using Flex, HTML, and/or Javascript. In other words, it allows us web developers to create stand-alone applications using the technologies we use every day. This is not like Google Gears or Firefox's offline data storage -- these are full blown applications that have much the same capabilities as a native application (with the huge advantage of being cross-platform). I've already used it to convert some of my Flex apps into standalone applications for use at trade-shows.

MEGAMOOSE  Actually, you only need the LiveCycle Data Services server if you're in need of very high-end enterprise messaging. Adobe makes the "express" version of LCS available for free so long as you stay with a single processor (even if it's multicore). They also recently released BlazeDS, which open-sources most of what was previously only available in LCS and is available for free at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/blazeds/. It's possible BlazeDS may provide everything you need.

MEGAMOOSE  Downloading this from MacUpdate caused Safari to consistently crash. Went to developer site -- the latest version listed there is v1.3. Installing that version appears to work fine but does not contain the new features listed for v2.0. Has the developer have pulled v2 until the crashes are fixed?

KEVIN FORD  Tried it and honestly have to say I found Photo Desktop to be a much better (and free) alternative.

The only thing PhotoStickies offers over Photo Desktop is webcam support.
