MEGAMAN I recently bought the Logitech DiNovo Edge for Mac and thought I'd give LCC the opportunity to take ownership of the new keyboard and my MX Revolution. I played around with LCC a while ago and it seemed stable to I took the plunge and installed it again (was using SteerMouse) thinking it would be cool to have full customisation and be able to check battery status. Well, I gave it a few days to impress me...but in the end I had to get rid of it. First, LCC wouldn't allow my Mac to go to sleep at its designated time. I had to do it manually. Secondly, every time my MX Revo would wake from sleep mode, it would forget the custom buttons I had set up for In Design and Illustrator - forcing me to perform a restart. The icing on the cake? My Revo would loose its right click function all together. WTF??? I am absolutely flabbergasted that in today's day and age, with some truly amazing programs out there - many of which seem pretty simple, yet provide an invaluable function and are on the whole, robust - that Logitech are still fumbling around in the dark. Seriously, WTF is wrong with this company? They announce to the world that they have Mac compatible hardware, yet seemingly can't find a decent programmer on the entire planet to write some decent code for their stuff to work as advertised. AS ADVERTISED LOGITECH!!!!! EVER HEARD OF FALSE ADVERTISING??? Anyhow, I'm back to my trusty SteerMouse and have re-mapped the new keyboard using Keyboard Maestro - works perfectly!!! LCC has been flawed since its inception. It would be smarter for Logitech to commission a software company to develop something that works and add value to their product range. This includes both Mac and PC drivers - from what I understand, PC drivers aren't all that much better. Thankfully there are 3rd party developers out there who know what the hell they're doing. Such a shame, cause Logitech make some good peripherals. (Version 2.7) |
