MACCENTRIC  This app has done wonders for my Mac Pro. My northbridge temps were 89c, and that made my machine very unstable. Memory temps were also high, in the mid 70c range. Installed smcFanContol, bumped the fans for CPU, HD and Rear Fan from 500rpm to 1000rpm and my northbridge is now at 48c, 40c degrees cooler. Memory temps went down to 43 to 55 (not sure why the difference between them, A1 A2 B1 and B2 are mid 50s, A3 A4 B3 and B4 are all in the mid 40s). It doesn't seem to control the power supply fan, and that's the highest temp on my system (PS1 is 57c, PS2 is 67c).

Much thanks to the authors, I was going nuts with the instability of my system due to the overheating. This is on a Mac Pro dual 3Ghz dual core Xeon with the ATI 1900xt graphics card. It has also helped with random graphics glitches I was having too.

MACCENTRIC  It may not expire now, but it just quits on launch for me.

Too bad, looks promising.

MACCENTRIC  When you go to www.mactheripper.com, only 2.6.6 is available for download. If you want v3, you have to go to the forums, which require registration just to view them.

There's just so many hoops I'll hop through before I go somewhere else for my software needs, and apparently this is too many as I've gone to dvd2one.

MACCENTRIC  Have you ever tried Quickbooks support? It is almost worse than nothing (and they want you to pay for a consultant too).

Not that it's any excuse to not supply at least 30 days free (as Intuit does with Quickbooks).

MACCENTRIC  It seems this update lost a few features along the way, the biggest for me being the clone to image function. This allows me to clone multiple disks to a single drive. I guess you could use the clone to directory feature, I just liked having the ability to clone to an image (and I think neither Super Duper nor MimMac support this either).

RANDYHARRIS  SuperDuper! absolutely can clone to an image, either SparseImage or Compressed.

Cheers,

CHIMOOSOFT  I am using 3.0 b4 and it allows clone to image without a problem; in fact, that's the way I've been using it.

TIM SWAN  MacCentric, SuperDuper does allow you to backup to an image -- it'll even create the image for you. That said, CCC's price can't be beat.

MACCENTRIC  I, too, find $60/year to find internet radio stations too steep. I might try it for 3 days, but I can't see paying more than $10 or $15 for this service.

MACCENTRIC  To answer the original question, the iPod can only sync in 1 direction, this let's you sync the ipod back to iTunes.

There are much cheaper alternatives, even free options to do this. $39 is way too much, even half that is pushing it with alternatives such as iPodRip and el iPodo available.

MACCENTRIC  It's probably your ISP that's shaping/throttling your speed. Complain to them, better yet, switch to a competitor that doesn't do this type of shennanigans.

MACCENTRIC  There are a slew of themes out there to choose from, many which are much better than safari. I agree that the standard theme is rather bland, but go to Tools/Themes, then click on the link to get more themes and go to town. I'm using Metal Lion at the moment, but iFox, Noia, the Orbit series and others are all improvements to the default theme and I'm sure you can find one you'll like if you search a bit.

MACCENTRIC  I tried to install on my Powerbook 1Ghz but wouldn't go, complained that this book doesn't support W-enhanced mode. Sitdetrack did install without complaining.

Bummer, I'd prefer to use this.

HOTCHILI  I had the same printing error 79.00FE with my HP 5000N, but I was using Quickbooks. Everything else printed fine (except maybe excel, I can't remember).

Anyway, OS 10.3.2 update fixed this problem!!!
