M PREWITT Are you using the "Save for Web" feature? It sounds like you are dealing with the icon preview, which takes up some space. You can also use a program like the free CocoThumbX to remove the icons, which should trim the size down to the raw image data. Using "Save for Web" should prevent the preview icon from being added. M PREWITT How did you establish communication? I have a Samsung SCH-a930 too, but every time I try to download from the phone, I get a series of error messages in the log: 18:34:06.253 usb::003::002-04e8-6640-02-00::2: Timed out - flushing and trying again 18:34:14.252 usb::003::002-04e8-6640-02-00::2: Timed out waiting for 7e, requested bytes -99999 - 0 bytes read 18:34:14.296 Error: Device needs attention - SCH-A930 on usb::003::002-04e8-6640-02-00::2 SCH-A930 on usb::003::002-04e8-6640-02-00::2: The phone is not responding while manipulating the filesystem. M PREWITT I'd add that a daily backup can create a false sense of security. If a file (or files) that you don't often use become corrupt, you may very easily not notice, and then the corrupted files will get copied over to your backup drive during the daily backup routines. And by the time you realize the problem, it will be too late. A variety of backups (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) is the best approach I think. I am happy with both TTP and DW. They've both proved useful to me. (Version 4.5.1)

Adobe Flash CS4 Professional | Jun 17 2006 |
M PREWITT Flash does have a product activation feature, and for that reason you should deactivate (not the same as delete!) it on the old machine before using it on the new one. But I don't think that is the cause of your problem. Otherwise it would just tell you that you had exceeded your license, it wouldn't just crash. I suggest you get the original install CDs (you did keep them, right?), and reinstall it on the new machine. Adobe and Macromedia (now both Adobe, of course) both make complex apps that have lots of little but important files scattered all over your hard drive, and I doubt that a simple file transfer would bring them all over correctly. FontExplorer X Pro | Mar 14 2006 |
M PREWITT Really like this application. ATM Deluxe was king, and I was sad that Adobe dumped it and never had a version for OS X (and IMO, even the OS 9 version was not as good as the Windows version). Linotype has taken up the cause, and released a free and excellent font manager. I especially appreciate the way it integrates with OS X's native font sets. I've always wondered why other OS X font managers cannot stick with this perfectly useful convention. I'm glad to see that Linotype is playing nice and working with Apple's methods. The store feature looks promising, but it still has a ways to go before it reaches the usability of the iTunes store, which seems to be its source of inspiration. (Version 1.0)

M PREWITT Seems to work well. Have had no problems. It's just a run-of-the-mill mouse driver with some configuration options for various MS mice. Features are presumably dependent on which mouse you own. Is it just me, or is anyone else irked by the fact that there are never ANY release notes for the various incarnations of this driver since about version 4 or so? (Version 6.0)

StuffIt Deluxe 2010 | Mar 9 2006 |
M PREWITT I don't know why others are experiencing so many problems. I have used StuffIt Deluxe since at least version 7 or 8, and from OS 9 through 10.2, 10.3, 10.4. It does not crash or hang on my system at all, and never has. It has never caused any problems whatsoever that I can remember, and I use it practically every day. Having said that, the reasons for using StuffIt seem to be dwindling. The compression is good but not remarkable. It does support some file attributes that, as far as I know, zip does not support. But then again, there are other formats besides sitx and zip, which seem to offer similar if not better functionality. I do like the Finder integration, and the ability to easily convert archives from one type to another. Also the ability to compress a file or archive simply by renaming it. I don't know of any free options out there that offer these benefits, which are features that I use all the time. Unfortunately it is, IMO, very expensive ... to the point of almost absurd ... for what it does. I would think $20-30 would be the max someone should have to pay for this type of application, and less for an upgrade. Especially when there are so many free alternatives. I sincerely hope, for Allume's/Smith Micro's sake, that they will reconsider their pricing. (Version 10.0.2)

M PREWITT I have been using this program since it was SafariSorter. I gladly paid the modest shareware fee when it ceased to be freeware, and the program works beautifully. The developer is continually updating and enhancing the application, and the one or two requests I made to the developer were all implemented in a short time. Unlike some other shareware schemes, there has been no additional upgrade fee between major versions ... my original license still works. The program actually does more that sort bookmarks; it also checks for duplicates and verifies links. The GUI is still a little funky (though, IMO, not hard to use). The app icon has improved dramatically FWIW. (Version 3.2.4)

M PREWITT Seems to be broken by the latest QuickTime or OS update (QT 7.0.4 or OS X 10.4.4). It was working until I updated. (Version 2.1)
