MCD3  You can rip and then put the file through DTOX to get the movie only

uncheck "use.dvdmedia" as filename-should make VOB files

But can Ripit handle the traps? CSS, ArcoS, RCE?

Can it take away region coding?

Get rid of Macrovision?

MCD3  Well, isnt this special....

Not only did they NOT roll 12.1.0 into this-but they forgot[?] to add 12.1.6;

So an install/reinstall can be a real party

first install:

1. MS Office 2008 12.00, then,

2 MSO 12.10 update

3. MSO 12.16 then

4 MSO 12.17 then

additionally, THIS patch is not recognized by my current install of 12.16

THIS patch is 267 mb

the MSO-SU is 155 mb

DAVID PELTON  in reply to MCD3's comments: Not only did they NOT roll 12.1.0 into this-but they forgot[?] to add 12.1.6.

I believe this is some misunderstanding that hopefully I can help clear up.

If you have downloaded the free trial of Microsoft Office, you downloaded version 12.1.6. This release is the same as the 12.1.5 version that folks have on their machines who have upgraded from previous versions.

The upgrade to Office 12.1.7 will upgrade anyone with 12.1.0 or higher on their machine. There is no interim step from 12.1.0 to get to 12.1.7.

HOWEVER, to address your issue of 12.1.6 not updating; MCD3, would you be willing to walk through some steps with me outside this forum so we can see what is going on with your install? When we determine the cause we can report back here for any others that might be seeing your issue.

Just let me know if I can help

David Pelton

MCD3  Cache-Out is also free and does the same

Applejack does a complete system repair AND removes caches, logs and swap files

free

Not everyone knows you can reset browsers-BUT-if an app does it-one should be warned-

esp if both cookies AND bookmarks go away

PERSON1229  I looked up Cache Out, it doesn't do anywhere close to as much as MacDust does.

Cache Out also requires admin authentication, which MacDust does not - because MacDust is more safe. MacDust is meant to clean out local files and save you space, not clean out system files.

I also looked up AppleJack. That's not even close to what MacDust is for.

Please stop going around giving everyone who makes shareware negative ratings.

Quite funny coming from you. Your own reviews of shareware, especially those that compete with your dusty app are pretty harsh.

MCD3  First off, this app has taken FOREVER to get to 3 (14m)beta

A little too long- I donated what 2-3 years ago-and its still not finished, it seems

If you donated, you were supposedly going to be notified about new betas to DL

and then get the final FREE.

For me-never happened

Every so often I would notice 2-3 betas later of a new one

No notification. Would inform of my email address which supposedly

When 3 (13r) came out I had to go through an elaborate FBI background check and follow a too complex set of exact instructions to prove I had donated-

So they send me the app only-no license

I wrote 3 times and each time the app ONLY arrived.

FINALLY I got the license-which you put into /user/library/prefs or MTR wont work

I wrote for what appears to be the final beta-no final release it seems,

and have not heard back; I finally got it off MSJ with license

These people are idiots

Its telling that one time the developer defended himself from charges that he was building the app as slowly as possible in hopes of getting as many donations as possible

If Blu Ray ever takes off-which I doubt-different claims of 10% to 75% of the market has switched to BR- I think 10-15% is more accurate-esp in these times-then MTR will become obsolete

Ive read many others who have complained

It does not feel finished, crashes and seems defeated by the very things it was built to avoid-studio tricks to trip up ripping

ST00P!D M0NK3Y  That about sums it up right there. I went the MSJ root as well to avoid the nightmarish stories I've read about. And even after getting it from there, the app is extremely buggy and doesn't work on most new DVDs. The developer is sucking money from the hopes of faithful MTR fans and each new beta release seems to be further and further apart. I have no clue when a final stable release will come into fruition, but MTR is a shadow of what it used to be and the development is asinine.
