VirusBarrier X5
May 4 2007

LONSMAN  Has little to do with popularity. anyone can learn on the internet how to create a windows virus...in a couple of hours you can send one out in an email.

To create a Mac virus you need to have a pretty sophisticated knowledge of Unix and most people don't. Also, most Unix people tend to be a little more sophisticated than the little nerds who easily create virus for windows hole-y architecture...

I run both machines...I always marvel at the daily update process on my PC every time I try to close down the damn thing..Like filling holes in a constantly leaking dam...and you better keep your virus protection very much up to date. Also, Mac users MUST have anti-virus software becuz you can pass on viruses to PC users and my "lesser half" would not appreciate that.

Cheers!

LONSMAN  Use 1.5.0.1 and forget about later versions. This just-mentioned version will

resolve your no-writing problems.

The very latest (2.0.0.3?) version works MUCH better on Intel machines. If you're using a PPC, don't try to use 2 until they fix the damn thing.

LONSMAN  How can you folks possibly release this piece of junk?!!

I am SO disappointed and somewhat angry because now I have to use Safari

which has an inferior search (doesn't have that lovely little window

that Firefox has at bottom left), something that USED to help me greatly

as a researcher.

This product is a horror show, slow and buggy.

It's done things to my computer that I never could have imagined.

Horribly slow to load, forms are often impossible to fill (even a search

term with Google) unless you clear the cache, generally can't cut and

paste an address into the address window, trying to get something from

the drop-down menu usually results in the browser freezing for 15 secs.

or so while one painfully watches the color spinning wheel. The damn

software even makes my doc disappear when I try to use the drop-down menus.

Thanks for nothing!
