The Missing Sync for Blackberry | Feb 10 2009 |
LEN PERUSKI It simply doesn't work as advertised. On my 9000 it transferred only 278/701 entries from my Address Book. Most of the transferred entries were incomplete and several were duplicated. On the positive side, it does appear to be very stable on the Mac and only crashed my BB once. Their technical support is marginal at best. I have sent them trace logs and comments on the beta versions, been promised email responses within 24 hours, and the best has been 72 hours. They did not reply to my last post which summarized a series of problematic issues. Imagine my surprise when this build showed up online as a "finished" version! Bottom line - avoid this product. I love my BB but have yet to find a good application to sync it with my Mac. If one doesn't come along soon, the iPhone is looking real good. (Version 2.0)

LEN PERUSKI Excellent program, my only compliant is that it isn't Tiger compatible. I manage a small network with over a dozen Macs and OnyX is a key part of my electronic "toolbox" to keep the Macs humming. The developer is responsive and dedicated, too. (Version 1.5.2)

LEN PERUSKI Then go back to the other program. Comments like 'gimmickware' to nothing to help the developer nor prospective users, especially after the developer has asked for nothing in return. Review the program, make constructive comments, and keep useless opinions to yourself. And learn to spell. (Version 1.5.2)

LEN PERUSKI Try deleting the file "com.heat.meteo.plist", then restart Meteorologist. You will lose your cities, but it seems to stablize and work properly. (Version 1.4.2)

LEN PERUSKI I've been using GC for several years for scientific image editing and transfer. The author, Thorsten Lemke, has always been supportive, the software supports some of the most arcane and obscure formats (as well as the mainstream ones). Mr. Lemke is not responsible for the limitations of different operating systems. Besides offering Mr. Lemke an apology for your rude remarks, you should confine your comments to those that are application specific and not shortcomings in the operating system. (Version 5.2.3)

LEN PERUSKI I run a microbiology research laboratory and we are all Macs and Panther here with OnyX our key maintenance utility. Mr. Barriere has made an excellent application and does outstanding support. Instead of complaining about an interface or minor issues, folks should be thanking him for taking the time to make such a nice, simple utility. Also, with a utility, I'll take substance over style any day, but OnyX has both. (Version 1.4.5)

LEN PERUSKI Your logic and statements are very similar to the arguments used by several governments to develop chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. If you were truly trying to help legitimate organizations combat legitimate problems, like child pornography, it is far more effective to work through them directly rather than post software such as this in the public domain. To do something such as this, simply because one can, shows the same level of maturity and moral and intellectual courage as a young child, and likely much less. (Version 1.3)

LEN PERUSKI Unless you can document the problem in a clear and concise manner, your comments are not helpful. If there is a problem, let the user community (and the developer) know so that it can be fixed. Otherwise, keep your opinions to yourself. (Version 3.2.1)

LEN PERUSKI My university laboratory group has been using haxies and APE for quite some time with no issues. My techs and students love OS X, but they also like the flexibility that Fruit Menu offers. (Version 3.2.1)

LEN PERUSKI Outstanding enhancer for Safari! Absolutely no problems with 10.2.4 and Safari v60. Has solved problems with certificates and browser identification. Nicely done and essentially idiot-proof - just install and use. (Version 1.5)

GraphicConverter X | Feb 6 2003 |
LEN PERUSKI Outstanding piece of software and should be on every Mac. I would rate it as a "6" in value, if possible. My lab has been using Graphic Converter for several years for image processing and manipulation - it is indispensable. The author continues to support and develop this application in an exceptional manner. (Version 4.5.4)

Drive 10 Updater | Feb 6 2003 |
LEN PERUSKI My laboratory has has several Macs that are used for a wide range of tasks from simpe word-processing to sequence analysis. I used Micromat products for years to help maintain our systems. The first version of Drive 10 cured me of that. As of late, have been very disappointed with the value and utility of their recent products. The feature set is poor, especially considering the price that they charge. While not perfect, I strongly recommend either Norton Utilities, Disk Warrior, or Apple's own technical software. (Version 1.1.4)
