NORIKER  Have you searched for a region free code for your existing dvd players? Often you just have to enter a sort of cheat and you can set your region to 0 and play anything.

RICHARDBRONOSKY  Be careful about setting your region code to none. I use MyDVDEdit to edit the menus/flow/IFOs of DVDs that I backup for my 2 year old. I edit them so that they go straight to the movie without having to press any buttons. (This is GREAT for in-vehicle DVD systems!!!) I've noticed a lot of DVDs have commands in them like: if regionCode=0 or regionCode=255 {goto blank_1_frame_infinitely_repeating_video_clip}

I of course delete those lines out, because I can on a disk I burn. If you remove the region code from your DVD player you would find that the original disk just displayed a blank screen.

NORIKER  Thanks RICHARDBRONOSKY, I never knew that. I must have played nearly a hundred DVDs and never had that problem. But you can always set it back if you want to, so that shouldn't be a problem.
