Microsoft Office 2008
Jul 20 2009

KENNY113  It's true. The launch time before was pitiful though. Now it's on par with what I'd expect from a commercial application. I really like the addition of Document Connection as I use Office Live Workspaces frequently for work. All in all, I find SP2 to actually be a bigger upgrade than 2004 to 2008 was.

KENNY113  Does closing the lid not still causing it to go to sleep on its own? I have my old MBP setup to go into deep sleep by default when I close the lid, but I don't need to watch it. Just close the lid and throw it in my backpack. Not being a troll, I am actually curious if the behavior has changed because I am looking at buying a new one.

GHOSTHOUSE  Yes. This does not change anything other than the sleep mode. Your Mac will still sleep from the same power settings as before.

Mozy for Mac

KENNY113  Yes, they are pushing their subscription product on their homepage as they would like to make money. However, you just really didn't read the website if you were truly looking for the free product. As Serge posted, it is easily found on the mozy.com/mac page and it is also easily found on the mozy.com/home page. You would have had to have navigated through one or both of those pages during your visit to the site. It's ok; I accept your apology ;)

KENNY113  It's only $4.95/mn for unlimited backup storage. The application and the 2GB backup storage is completely free. The service actually works great. Here's a link to the signup page: https://mozy.com/registration/free

KENNY113  Better bitrates for full AOL accounts only. Still pretty nice to have access to some XM stations for free none the less.

KENNY113  Just create a true AIM account. You can just use it for this app and not iChat/AIM. You don't need a full-fledged AOL account.

KENNY113  I know this is old software, but I decided to check it out today after I checked out AOL Radio (which rocks, btw). This app works great! Preferably alternative to services like SnapFish, .Mac (although .Mac is even more integrated, it's not free), etc. This app intergrates with iPhoto's export function and pushes pics directly to an AOL Pictures photo album and then you can manage all your pictures and albums directly through the app. Extremely easy and useful!

AOL Radio

KENNY113  I decided to check this out based on the the previous reviews and I'm glad I did! This rocks and it's actually a very well written OS X app. BEAUTIFUL interface, low on resources, and a GREAT varity of music. I love the XM stations, but I was suprised to hear the AOL Radio stations are great as well. XM stations are lower quality streams unless you have an AOL subscription (but still sound good enough). AOL Radio is a full 128Kbps MP3 stream.
