KZX72 ThemePark is a really nice *free* GUI themer. Be great if the program were updated for Snow Leopard. (Version 4.0a1)

Aqua4iTunes | Sep 4 2009 |
KZX72 God and I thought I was the only one who didn't like DARK GRAY toolbars, menubars, scroll bars, windows, icons plastered all over my operating system lol. To listen to the sheeple that have jumped onboard the Apple bandwagon in the last couple years, DEFEND Leopard's latest GUI changes has been comical to say the least. Aqua sure wasn't perfect but it was a hell of a lot more vibrant and eye catching than anything Leopard or Snow Leopard has offered us to date. But tell that to the newest breed of mac user and he'll go out of his way to try and convince you that this "graphite" look isn't excessively dark, heavy and just plain boring looking. Aqua4iTunes is a great program that should definitely continue being updated for OS X. (Version 3.5)

KZX72 What an awesome program, one of my favorites no doubt. Question though - does anyone know if it's possible to make an audiobook "Part length" longer than 12 hours? That's the max on this program and I needed a single part that's 13 hours long... (Version 1.0.11)

KZX72 Can't remove itunes store arrows, still can't play flac files, "genius" is worthless, new sound icon looks terrible. Hands down the worst version of itunes yet. Save yourself the trouble and check out Songbird, the Firefox of media players. (Version 8.0.2)

CHLOE The current version, 1.2.1 (as of this writing) has the option to hide the 'Get for iPhone and iPod Touch!' unobtrusive text ad. Just flip the widget over by clicking on the 'i' on the bottom-right hand corner of the widget. You can then adjust the setting in the preferences accordingly by unchecking the appropriate checkbox. Color Labels | Feb 24 2009 |
ADONSA I tried the demo under System Leopard 10.5.6. I could not get it to colorize multiple files at once I colored about 2 files successfully; there are some other file types I could not get it to work on. During this time, it left a large white vertical bar obscuring about 1 inch of the right side of the screen. Then the demo returned a warning that I must wait until tomorrow until I use it again. So, I quit the demo and restarted it. The demo then placed a large white area obscuring about 95% of the screen, then froze everything; control alt escape was disabled. I had to do a power off reboot to recover. So much for protected memory. I suspect that either it is not adequately System Leopard compatible, or that the demo is so crippled it's unwise to use. Next, I'll have to run Disk First Aid, repair permissions, onyx, in order to resolve any corruption the demo might have left behind. This application has the potential to replace the neglected Labels-X, HOWEVER, until a fully compatible and well tested version is published, don't even think of running the demo under System Leopard. NetBarrier X5 | Apr 8 2008 |
KZX72 The new graphical interface is hideous (when compared to X4) and honestly, why the hell isn't the log part of the main window like it was in every other version? What genius made this decision? Also, why isn't there an option to remove the Netbarrier menubar icon from...Netbarrier? Why is it hidden away in Netupdate? (Version 10.5.2)

Apple iTunes | Mar 4 2008 |
KZX72 Could be so much better. Doesn't permanently embed artwork, doesn't allow for FLAC support, still can't add or remove streams from iTunes radio, can't add MANY types of audio formats to audiobooks section, can't change awful white background (even w/ help of Shapeshifter or other GUI programs) (Version 7.6.1)

VERYCARLA One point - iTunes DOES embed artwork. Once you've gotten your artwork from the iTunes Store, select the album you want to modify. Drag the artwork to the desktop. It'll create a clipping. Then right click on the album tracks (they should all be selected) and choose "Clear Downloaded Artwork". Next, drag the artwork clipping from the desktop back to the artwork pane. Again, the tracks you want to modify should be selected. iTunes will embed the artwork properly. You can also download an Applescript to automate the embedding process from Doug Adams. It's called (get this) "Embed Artwork". (Version 7.6.2)
