KR8ZEDKAS i didnt up-grade yet to 10.5.5 but a tip to maybe help with your video play back on cnn &other sites that use flash video, did you try yet downloading the beta flash player from adobe? it is free &i think a finished version is comming soon but my friend tipped me off to trying it,even the old beta months ago &can say its like 1000 times faster for every site with flash for me. these days so many sites use flash for ad banners also &i never realized before with flash version 9 of how bad it slowed my mac down! don"t know if that will fix your problem but if you have not gotten it yet I surely would recommend trying it. its free but if I remember right you have to sign up for a free account on the adobe web site to get access. but its fast &easy &I"m not even sure if you have to do it any more. and if it doesnt work for you you can always download their flash un-install program &re-install the normal version 9 thats out right now this is the mac 10.5.5 thread &dont want to go to much off topic but i think it is very related &i had the exact problem you do & this fixed it so try going to their web site called ADOBE LABS at http://labs.adobe.com download the FLASH 10 beta or release candidate they call it now I think. but also download the FLASH UN-INSTALLER that is harder to find but is here at http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg adobe says its very important to run the un-installer FIRST &then run that new flash 10 installer. then try going to cnn or where ever &hopefully it will be very much faster. sorry every one for this long reply. just hopeing it helps the poster &may be some other people (Version 10.5.5) |
