The update went well but took awhile to install. Specially when searching for the apps on the hard drive and also the actual installation. I guess it makes sense if its a 114 meg download.

Other than that, all apparently is well. Apps feel snappier. Though I can't confirm problems other users had are corrected since I never experienced them myself. Probably because my use of Office is limited.

Just my 2 cents.

The new iMovie 7.0 (from iLife '08) is simply awesome!

I've played with it and though I do admit that I miss some features, the new interface is simply one of the most intuitive I've seen in years. And this coming from an over-20-years Mac user.

The plug-ins and other features are definitely missed, but I'm sure its just a matter of time (and software updates) before they're taken care of.

If you hate the change, I completely sympathize, but I URGE you to give it a chance. Read the manuals and tutorials. Most of the features are there. And the workflow is a whole lot better. It's more storyboard-like. Just the way its done in Hollywood by the film directors, and with good reason: now you can concentrate and pick the best way to tell your story instead of just editing the film. iMovie now allows you to be more creative story-wise without compromising the editing part.

Give it time, it won't be much, and you'll discover that this new iMovie is really the one it should have been all along!

Cheers!

Finally Perian 1.0 is here!!

Question (and please pardon my ignorance):

Once installing Perian, do I dispense with the Divx and Flip4Mac WMV plug-ins??

Thanks in advance!

No. It is not a beta.

This new version works great with all my Intel Macs!!

Still, can't detect any new feature.

Maybe they're all under-the-hood improvements.

Still a great update and a must-have app.

This is all wrong.

Apple should have just said that this update is only for people with the new Base Station (802.11n) since they are the only ones that have the Airport Admin at version 5.

And for us poor version 4 owners, does this mean that we get no more updates?

Just asking...

This is simply infuriating!

I've downloaded all the updates for Civ IV and the game STILL randomly quits losing all my hours of gameplay!

I'm using an iMac intel 20" 2.16 MHZ with 10.4.9. with 2 GB of ram, ATI x1600 128 MB

Any ideas/help?

At $59 dollars (minus the other 10% discount for leaving the shopping cart alone for a few minutes) the upgrade is worth it in my humble point of view.

I was always trying to convince myself to buy Jam before, to no avail. But combining both programs in one package (and for less than half than previously available) finally made it for me.

I spent time until midnight making my first crossfading cd, normalizing tracks, joining U2's MLK and Where The Streets Have No Name and Anberlin's Naive Orleans and Paperthin Hymn like God intended, you know, just trying it out.

It came out perfect! With CD-Text and everything.

And yes the interface is slicker (as in "somoother", "glossier", a.k.a. "prettier", "shinier" although a tad less intuitive for my taste, but I'm just nitpicking, its AWESOME really!).

Too bad there is no demo. Everyone should at least check it out.

$59 upgrade if you have Toast 7, Popcorn 2 or Jam 6 (with valid key).

http://www.roxio.com/enu/upgrade_center/toast/default_esdupg.html

For Toast 8 that incorporates Jam... + TiVO (which I don't really need), + Blue Ray (which I don't really have).

Still.... I've always wanted Jam.

Maybe I will take it.

Interesting update from the author of this still amazing little widget:

http://www.pearworks.com/pages/pearLyrics.html

It could be nice to have iTunes download lyrics, still I think diversity (a.k.a. 'Thinking Different') is always a better proposition.

Kudos to the author for making an awesome and enduring classic.

Still the best utility!

Much faster than before. The only problem is that the cd takes A LOT to load (5 minutes aproximately).

It's worth it though. And when I restarted Mac OS X loaded noticiably more quickly.

Permission utility requires that the app is installed and run in your hard drive (makes sense).

File & Folder is reasonably fast considering it checks ALL .plist, files, and folders in the disk selected (it detected a corrupt file in my laptop from an app I didn't need anymore).

Thorough and fast. Excellent!

Tested flawlessly with MacBook Pro Duo 2.0 Ghz & iMac G5 1.8 Ghz

Ay idea when this little app will support the new video compression format of the iPod video 5.5 G ??

Needs to be update to support the new compression scheme of new and updated (firmware) video iPods, namely 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Low-Complexity Profile with AAC-LC audio.

Hope the developer adds this soon, hint, hint ;) hehe

No problems whatsoever. iSight now works and perfectly!

By far the best webcam for Windows.

Wintel users should be envious for that feature alone.

But anyways, in my MacBook Pro (2 GHZ, 100 GB, 1 gb RAM, X1600 256 MB video) the drivers installed and worked perfectly (I deinstalled the previous ones). Far less problems than with the last ones (audio didn't install properly until I did the Hardware Devices trick I read in a forum). Now everything installs with no issues!

But 202 MBytes!! wow... That's a LOT of drivers, mainly thanks to the many configurations of MacPro no doubt. Anyway, minor problem. You got an Intel Mac? Download this now!

Without a doubt one the best and most useful widgets. And in my humble opinion its also the best of its kind.

I like the fact that you can select the tracks you want the art added to. Also, the fact that you can choose from the sometimes different cover art that Amazon.com has for the same album gives you the chance to make the appropiate selection.

This and the fact that the developer makes frequent improvements is a great plus!

Slim (60k), fast, reliable. What more could anyone ask!

This app is specially useful when troubleshooting your Mac.

My question is: given the simplicity of this widget, is it necessary to convert it to a Universal (as in Intel-compatible) widget.
