JOLLY AKA PATRICK  Well that should not happen. Send me a mail with the logs if possible. Furthermore - does it use the cpu when not the front application.

It's a known apple bug that the pulsating button eats up idle cpu and it looks like the program would use cpu like hell even though it's not.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  SSH tunneling does work. Currently you have to open the tunnel yourself, future versions will open the tunnel for you.

E_COMMERCE  No, it most certainly does not. I've posted before on this, and provided an absurdly simple example.

For a simple case, assume the local computer has no VNC servers running, and is a larger screen resolution than the remote server.

ssh -L 5900:127.0.0.1:5900 myremoteserver

Connecting with JFVNC to localhost 5900 will yield a window the size of the LOCAL screen, with the server's screen stretched to fit.

This has been ongoing for months. I've deleted prefs files, shut down every VNC server on my network except the one in question, and it still fails miserably. Every other client (Mac, Windows, and even Palm) works perfectly. Only JFVNC fails.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  Currently that authorization scheme is not supported. As a workaround ( until adding that feature ) use normal VNC authorization on the server.

Cause you do not have to start up iChat.app which uses a more megabytes of your system memory and still be online.

On Leopard iChat has this feature of automatically login me in, but not no Tiger.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  If chicken would be faster, nobody would use JollysFastVNC for sure.

What is your setup and and your steps to make this reproduceable as I'm quite certain that JollysFastVNC is the FASTEST VNC CLIENT.

Take a look at the video at http://www.jinx.de/teclog/2007.08.10.jollysfastvnc-inside-hidden-jolly-labs.html

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  As I'm the author of hibernate I do know that. But it apple has changed that behaviour.

Apple explicitly says that its no longer using the third bit there. I do use an encrypted swap and have had no problems.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  Try a different VNC server. I'm using ultravnc and tightvnc on windows with very good performance. Some vnc servers are just not capable of handling the requests jollysfastvnc asks them for. Then those SERVERS are SLOW as they don't handle the requests correctly internaly.

If JollysFast is slower than any other client on the mac I'm pretty sure that it's the server. Drop me a mail and is can figure that one out.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  Did you try setting up a new connection just with the ipaddress to figure out what's going on ?

JollysFastVNC trys the servers in the order that is shown in the address field. If the first one is a name that can't be resolved it will then try the second one and so forth.

That changes the use of the 2nd. and 3rd. button. ( maybe I should name it ARD vs. other )

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  When the servers crash it's probably no JFVNC's fault, more a problem on the server side as JFVNC just asks for updates.

Can you send me a mail which servers you are using ?

Right now you can however use OS X 's capability of remapping the keys to whatever you like. So YOU CAN REMAP it to CMD-SHIFT-F if you like.

JOLLY AKA PATRICK  definition ? Currently JollysFastVNC scales the remote desktop to the size you choose by resizing the window .

CMD -1 will set it to 1:1 resolution. CMD-0 to 2:1 and CMD-2 to 1:2

Bonjour annouced servers will automatically beeing shown (and autoconnected if you want).
