JOHN QUINN  Sorry, nevermind. I TOTALLY overlooked that same question further down the page. Clicking on the provided link to register is certainly the easiest way. The entire process could have been made a little more intuitive though.

JOHN QUINN  How do I get the trial to start? After launching the app, I am prompted to log in with my MacUpdate account, after which again I am told that it was a free account and that I should upgrade to gain access to the app. What about the 10 days of trial? I tried to "register" from within the app to see if a trial option would come up, but all it says is "checking account status" and my log in details become greyed out.

DP8  The login panel has a "Register" button, which will present the MacUpdate Member Registration window - you enter in your name and email, and then on the next screen you can select "Trial" or payment method. If you already have a MacUpdate member account for the email address you enter, it will use that account for the Trial, otherwise, it will create a new Trial membership.

You can also sign up for the trial on the macupdate.com website if you already have a membership and are logged into the site.

JOHN QUINN  Nor really, as far as I can see. While you can import your emails from Apple Mail, importing the actual accounts (as opposed to setting them up manually that is) is not possible. Maybe I overlooked something though and you can give me a hint?

JOHN QUINN  I love this game! Never seen anything as realistic and intuitive. However, a multiplayer option would be awesome! Is anything like that in planning?

LicenseKeeper
Jun 9 2009

JOHN QUINN  When I formatted my hard drive and re-installed all my apps, I lost almost all of the license information I had stored in License Keeper. Before formatting, I updated License Keeper and exported the content. However, when I tried to import it again later, it only imported part of the information - many serials were missing and so were all the application icons. I can't remember the version of License Keeper this happened with, must have been about ten months ago. I am sure this issue has been taken care of by now. I myself am reluctant to use this app since, however, and rather try to store my license information in more conventional old school ways. What I am saying is that simply beware of the possibility of losing your information and maybe create an external copy of your licenses before formatting just in case.

ProteMac Meter

JOHN QUINN  This is so far the only traffic monitoring app I have seen that actually allocates the overall traffic to specific applications. So far so good. However, it records my traffic only very sporadically, which renders the app useless. Example: While other apps I use show my traffic of the last two weeks to be 3.5 GB, ProteMac Meter (monitoring "all applications") indicates an overall traffic of 208 MB (!). How is that possible?

Things
Jan 15 2008

JOHN QUINN  Thanks for the advice, however, it still does not work. I do doubleclick on the item in Things, it expands and reveals the Notes field, which is the same field I can drop files from Finder and URLs from Safari into, Alas, Mail won't work. I figure the list area of Mail is the part of the window where the mails are listed :) Still, if I drag any mail into the Notes area (or into any other area), the "plus" symbol does not appear and there is no chance to drop it. That's kind of strange, since you probably have the same version of Things as I do (0.8.7.).

JOHN QUINN  No, it doesn't work for me. When I drag the message from the say Inbox list into the Notes area, there is no green plus symbol and the message cannot be dropped. Am I doing anything wrong?!

JOHN QUINN  Except for translations German-English, none of the languages seems to work. Imstead, the respective pages "cannot be found" when searching for anythin related to Spanish or French.

Twicetab

JOHN QUINN  This is really a great one. However, I wonder how I could use Twicetab to open the SECOND tab, cause I figure this still has to be done with "apple+T", otherwise there is no bar to double-click on.

GREENLDR  If you go to the "view" menu and click on "show tab bar" then the tab bar will always be visible even with only one page open...

JOHN QUINN  @ Frank Parth:

I think it should be:

MacUpdate Bundle XXXX

(with XXXX being the number of your bundle, such as 5132 or so) Just look in the first mail you were probably sent (the one with all the serials)
