JOHN MALIS  Both YouTube own search box and iTB search box are working on my setup.

Try mailing the developer. He is very fast in answering.

JOHN MALIS  Blaming it on my setup is easy.

This issue is also confirmed by two other friends who both have a iMac with OSX10.6.1 installed.

The strange thing is it sometimes is a short freeze and sometimes a 'long' time (read: more then 15 seconds). Is seems to be random.

BTW I did a clean install on my Macbook Pro and iMac. Never got any issues whatsoever. Including previous version of Onyx.

JOHN MALIS  It happens when you cancel on both questions. Then it freezes for some seconds.

Happens on my Macbook Pro, iMac and friend iMac.

All running OSX10.6.1

Disabling both doesn't help either. On next startup it again locks for some seconds.

There is for sure something wrong because previous versions does not have this issue.

****.

JOHN MALIS  I like Onyx but it indeed has his flaws. I also experience some lag when launching the app. It freezes for about 20 seconds before it is actually usable. Tried a previous version and this does not have this issue.

(Running on MacBook Pro OSX10.6.1)

Still like this for some quick tweaks. Although I also like iTweax. It is almost the same as Onyx but with a thinner/sleeker UI.

Recommended nevertheless.

JAZZICA  No 20 second lag here, John, unless you run the script to verify startup volume.

In Preferences, under the Advanced Tab, you"ll find "Verify the structure of start-up volume at launch".

You have 3 options: Ask, Automatically Verify, and Don't Verify.

Joel makes it very clear in the help files that all apps will freeze, and you might see a beach-ball, but just to WAIT, because it's over in about ... 20 seconds.

So just go in to preferences and pick Don't Verify.

SLIGHTLYCONFUZED  Yeah, make sure you uncheck those options in the preferences, or at the very least, press cancel on the first two options that pop up when you first open Onyx.

SLIGHTLYCONFUZED  Then this is an issue separate from Onyx that is occurring with your computer, as Onyx starts instantly without any lag or strange freezing on several of the computers I have Snow Leopard installed on. And if it's only a "few seconds", that's not too bad. =P

SLIGHTLYCONFUZED  By the way, did you upgrade to Snow Leopard or did you do a clean install?

SCRIVENS  Are you sure the hang isn't just OSX waking and connecting an internal or external drive that's gone to sleep? Does it here with any app and it only started with Snow Leopard, even with 'Put Drives to Sleep' turned off. Very annoying and has been the same through all versions of 10.6 - did a complete fresh install of OSX and every app the other day and it still does it so it appears to be something in the system itself.

JOHN MALIS  Wow this is one hell of a tool! Tried many different tools for capturing streams but this is by the easiest I ever used.

It is simple and does what it should.

JOHN MALIS  My main image editor. Much more appealing then the very expensive Photoshop.

Work like Photoshop but looks much more OSX-like.
