ALASTAIR (CORIOLIS SYSTEMS) Actually that is not true. Disk Utility's support for repartitioning is very limited; it allows you to resize partitions, but it won't let you move them around, which essentially means that it's only good for simple cases. Also, iPartition supports resizing FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS partitions, including those with Windows on them (e.g. for users of Boot Camp). It can even update the necessary parts of Windows to keep Windows booting after repartitioning, which (it turns out) is very tricky; it's much more than just updating BOOT.INI, and even doing that is beyond a lot of people. iPartition has plenty of other features that aren't in Disk Utility also. JOEL.SCHMIDT actually, I don't think PRL updating is enabled yet, but then again, I don't think they have released a new PRL since summer, so I wasn't able to test it before I notified MacUpdate of this release. (Version 2.0)

NTFS for Mac OS X | Nov 25 2007 |
JOEL.SCHMIDT Also, there is a problem caused by NTFS-3G ONLY. Basically, NTFS-3G uses it's own driver and that prevents the startup disk preference panel from seeing the NTFS drives/partitions. Paragon's NTFS modifies the original Apple NTFS driver directly, which allows Startup Disk to work properly. (Version 6.0)

NTFS for Mac OS X | Nov 19 2007 |
JOEL.SCHMIDT True, they do the same thing, but they are two different ways of doing it. Paragon's software does not rely on having to install MacFuse as well as the NTFS-3g driver in to your system. Since everything in the Paragon version is tied together, you can avoid issues like the current compatibility bug between MacFuse and NTFS-3g. That alone makes it worth the price in my own opinion. Of course, you could always use pacifist to extra the files and install them manually if you want to be real cheap. (Version 6.0)

JOEL.SCHMIDT It'd be even more simple if you'd have tried Transmission 0.91. But since you were posting about 0.90, it is obvious that you didn't bother to even notice a new version solving a lot of your problems had been released before you posted. (Version 0.91)

Acquisition | Nov 21 2006 |
JOEL.SCHMIDT Nice troubleshooting Mircoslob, but that doesn't help me. In fact, doing that revealed another problem with the newer versions. Unless I entered my email address to register the software, Acquisition would only update 15% of the core before stopping and claiming everything was ready. I have a feeling that not too many people will be happy with being 'forced' to register in order for the software to be properly installed. (Version 132.7)

MICROSLOB Sorry to hear the brute force methods didn't work getting it to connect again. The java core update bug seems to be an issue for a while, I honestly don't know if it's corrupted when it's interupted with the registration nag or not. I normally would just delete the Acquisition Core folder after registering to avoid any possibility of corruption. I just updated to 132.7 and it gave me the same issue as you, no connections to any peers & empty searches until I killed the Acquisition Core folder and forced it to download it again. Worked fine after that. Take 'er easy. (Version 132.7)

Acquisition | Nov 7 2006 |
JOEL.SCHMIDT Useless. Purchased a license a year ago, but bought a new one sunday because Acquisition would not accept my registered email address (and David had previously tried to claim that my email address had been used too many times to register and was blocked). Shortly after I purchased the new license, I encountered the same failure to connect problem that several people have been reporting. As of 3:06:15pm 11/07/2006, Central Standard US Time, Acquisition is STILL not able to connect. I did not purchase this software to spend at least 2 days not able to use it. I have checked all my port settings as suggested on David's site, everything is as he suggests. (Version 132.6)

JEFF H. I was half hoping that I would be offered something other than a discount of $50 on the $400 processor they offered me AFTER I paid nearly $800 on a processor that died just 4 months after the warranty was up. I understand business is business, but not even 3 years on an $800 processor? That's just wrong! (Version 2.3b3)

JOEL SCHMIDT to anonymous: how about the fact that the program has never accepted my legitimately purchased registration since the days of 116? I think that'd be good grounds to contact the developer. but all I have EVER gotten from him is claims that I have registered it too many times. Since I am not on any kind of local network and only own 1 macintosh system, that suggests a flaw in Acquisition that allows people to gain someone's registration code. And the developer doesn't seem to care. (Version 121.6)

Apple Bluetooth Firmware Update | Nov 25 2004 |
JOEL As posted on Xlr8yourmac.com: "Here's a suggestion - zap the PRAM. (command+option+P+R keys held down at boot until the mac chimes 3 times. resetting NVRAM via OF is also another alternative-Mike) I had the same thing happen the other night when I was updating the system software while setting up an iMac G5 - the preference pane disappeared and the setup assistant told me that there was no bluetooth installed. Apple told me to zap the PRAM and it did the trick." (Version 1.2)

Use this updater for the modules specified above; this updater is unsupported with any other Bluetooth modules." If you failed to read that before downloading, you have no one to blame but yourself. :( (Version 1.2)

Apple Bluetooth Firmware Update | Nov 28 2004 |
ANONYMOUS Well in my case (iMac G5 20") the automatic Software Update prompted me to download this and install it, which promptly broke my BT module (but it came back after the aforementioned PRAM/NVRAM zapping technique). I never sought out the updater. After 3 phone calls to Apple, it seems that either the updater is buggy (in which case it will probably be pulled) or the documentation will be revised to indicate which systems it clearly is not compatible with.
