JEFFISHERETOO  I have to agree wither others. Nice idea, I can see where it could come in handy, but my needs are pretty modest to the price is a bit steep for for when compared with the price of other shareware products I use every day such as GraphicConverter or DefaultFolder that do a lot more, are FAR more complex to write, used far more often, yet are comparable in price.

As a software product manager I would suggest the developer do some price sensitivity analysis. I suspect you will find that you'll make more money at half the price. Worse case your price moves another developer to enter the space at a lower price.

JEFFISHERETOO  I looked at this and it has a few cool features but it seems no one here has used the FINDER'S "Find" command nor ever looked at the "Other..." attributes options etc. MUCH of what this does can be done in the Finder and after looking at their web site and trying the program I came away thinking they've misrepresented what comes with EVERY Mac by way of searching because they seem to intentionally focus on Spotlight ignoring the FINDER'S "Find" command capabilities.

You can add multiple criteria and using the "Other" operator find using even more meta data and even Save the search criteria for later use all built into the FINDER.

Just a comment and FYI and not a "ding" on the application only pointing out your needs my be more than spotlight but less than what this offers and in that case the FINDER may work for you!

JEFFISHERETOO  Giving the product ONE star because it doesn't support the legacy PPC, as Apple no longer does, is an abuse of the rating system. The developer is clear about their CPU support and giving it 1 star is simply wrong. What you should have done was left a comment objecting to the lack of PPC support but not rated the software's quality down because of it.

JEFFISHERETOO  I've been using DropBox for about three months now. I have two Mac OS machines and an office Windows machine. It's worked very very well for me keeping my current work folder synchronized. Now with the iPhone version I have access to my primary files anywhere and everywhere. Sure there may be some concerns with the fact the stuff is stored somewhere else but the reality is so are all those emails you sent yourself all these years. I suggest you so as I did and create an encrypted sparse disk image (I use 50MB) and place your confidential stuff in there. Sure it takes longer to copy the entire image rather than the individual files but other than work stuff if someone wants my latest car show photos have at um! :-)

JEFFISHERETOO  Ok..what does this do? ????? Gawd awful initial user experience! I downloaded, it presented me the enter email/password dialog. I log into the web page with a user name and password. I had to go to the web site to find out what my email was. Strike one! I entered the email and licked ok but nothing happened! The dialog stayed up. Strike two! I then quit and reopened and now it says I'm logged in but a visit to the preferences doesn't show me what it's using as log in credentials or any way to change them! Strike three!

JEFFISHERETOO  I can't say it better than it's been said already other than to point out that this is nothing more than the IM part of the equally non-sense AOL Desktop for Mac just ripped out for a twofer deal for AOL. While I am glad to see them doing anything at all for the Mac I am baffled by their continued inability to sync the feature sets for the Mac and Windows products after almost 5 years of nothing. This is why AOL is no longer a player and should just close up shop once and for all. Sad.
