Type: CommentsDate: 3 Jun 2008 17:11Are you using Tiger? The latest (universal) version is Leopard only. For Tiger you need 0.1.8 (go to the dev's website).

Type: ReviewDate: 21 Apr 2008 19:17I've tried to use Fluid for a while but run into a couple of problems:
1. Setting 'Accept cookies only from sites you navigate to' does not work, Gmail complains for instance, although it works with Safari;
2. The RSS button does not open the link in the default RSS reader, but in the default browser instead;
3. Showing the current in the Status Bar even when mousing over other links is annoying at least;
4. App crashed when trying to run a Java applet (it works fine in Safari/Camino);
5. Maybe the worst, 'middle-click' on links does NOT open them in another tab like all other browsers do, COMMAND+click works tho;
6. Links that open in a new window aren't redirected to a new tab, i.e. single window mode isn't possible.
Suggestions:
- Allow the user to run Fluid as a normal browser even if s/he doesn't want to create a SSB. It will probably increase your user base and also allow newbies to use it and test its incredible nifty add-ons like the Cover Flow/Clipping plugins;
- Make the 'Mail this link' use the default mail application and not only Mail.app;
- as it's a SSB it would be nice to open RSS feeds in an online service as option, like Camino/Firefox do;
- allow some kind of user CSS like Safari or add some kind of 'ad-blocker' feature.
I don't know if the dev look at MacUpdate so I am sending this to his email asap. Thanks and keep it up! =)

Type: ReviewDate: 1 Apr 2008 23:05Sorry, but the software isn't that much user friendly and takes ages to load after it's loaded every time it's launched. I just wanted the "old" Tiger "Show All" window... The new one on Leopard just sucks (and it does not saves its config between launches, what sucks even more).
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 14 Mar 2008 12:19Just got it to work. Wait for a while after you get it running, and you should see the start-up panel. If it does not work, make sure you have your OS setting to U.S. in the International System Preferences: Language, Formats and Input Menu. It seems that's what fixed it for me here.

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 14 Mar 2008 12:10Actually the download is an experimental native build (no X11) for Intel only! Hoooray!
But it seems that it does not work on Leopard 10.5.2:
- first launch: crash
- second launch: does nothing, no windows, no nothing, just the app icon on the Dock.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 1 Feb 2008 21:05It's a really good add-on to Safari, but since I installed Leopard there is no way to keep its buttons in the Safari toolbar after restarts. Fix it soon, please!

Type: CommentsDate: 6 Nov 2007 22:02Netscape? Should be easy, as the bookmarks are like in Firefox, just in another folder.

Type: ReviewDate: 24 Oct 2007 21:47It's very nice, and free. Suggestions for the next release: add a diff function (shows the changes related to another file). Kudos! =)

Type: ReviewDate: 17 Oct 2007 23:33Great idea. Almost there, needs a few features to be 'the' (free) choice for media browsing on Mac IMO:
- double click opens in external viewer/editor (option)
- more info for items (maybe a floating window when you mouse over or CONTROL+click)
- more control for media playing (volume, etc)
- and slideshow for pics would be awesome! =)
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 19 Sep 2007 01:32Looks good, but it's quite unstable, even after trying the fix suggested in the ReadMe file...

- show pic info (format, dimensions, EXIF, etc)

Type: CommentsDate: 14 Jul 2007 21:20Welcome back, Netscape. =)
PS: there are no ads. As someone else said, it's just Firefox 'dressed up' as Netscape and with some extensions that may be useful if you are a Netscape.com member.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 6 Feb 2007 23:50Hmmmm, no drag & drop support? It would be nice if it could be added to the Finder windows' toolbar for automatically action on the selected disk/folder. It has some English errors too: I guess you meant 'external peripheral'.

Type: ReviewDate: 26 Dec 2006 23:29I can't believe nobody commented about this nice app yet. It's a great idea, and free!
The only thing missing is an easy way to move the text, as sometimes the default position does not work well with some templates. But it's fully usable and useful! Kudos to the developers. Thanks a lot!

Type: ReviewDate: 16 Dec 2006 06:09Really cool, but it does not work with foreign characters in the path nor blank spaces. I will try to report it to the dev's.

Type: ReviewDate: 15 Sep 2006 12:46Very nice, and fast. Some bug reports:
- sometimes the expanded file/folder does not show in the Finder until I restart it (maybe because it's so fast?)
- association to BIN files did not work (I had to set it using the Get Info panel)
As already suggested, it would be nice if there was a preference in order to make it handle additional expanding, like mounting DMG extracted files. Better support for passwords encrypted files would be great also.
Thanks for making it free. =)

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Sep 2006 03:48Smultron is really good, but I really miss the old toolbar icons. The second version of the buttons for the 2.x version is a bit better, but simply doesn't look right. Moreover, there are some app features that had buttons in the 1.x and 2.0 version thare are gone... I hope the devs include them again and go back to the first toolbar icon set.
Thanks for making it free. Keep it up! =)

Type: CommentsDate: 2 Sep 2006 05:39Cool. How does one request a dic? I'd like to see a English<->Portuguese dictionary, as well as a Spanish<->Portuguese or an English<->Spanish.
As a side note, I missed the articles in the German dictionary... It would be better if it showed the article (der, die, das) instead of the substantive genre.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 30 Aug 2006 01:02Works for me (Mac OS X 10.4.7). I've downloaded the German-English dic. Is it possible to download/install other dics than the ones shown in the app preferences? How?

Type: ReviewDate: 22 Aug 2006 10:32It seems to work quite well. Is it really supposed to be this way: every time I start the app it requests the registration code. Quite annoying IMHO.

AdiumX offers much more features, and is a multi-IM cliente (also AIM/iChat, Yahoo, ICQ, etc...). The most complete so far is Mercury however, that used tabbed chatting and offers video conference.

Type: CommentsDate: 21 Dec 2005 23:14One word: amazing! I wish I had suck a nice, powerful and free program sometime ago when I was in College. ;)
Suggestions/questions:
- Can't I create a new data sheet and enter data manualy? There should be a New Data Sheet command, and when the Data Sheet is select, you could import/export data to/from it.
- I miss the option to select a data point in the graph using the mouse pointer (show the exact position in the inspector and/or highlight the data row in the data sheet).
- A step increment in the Calculations would be also useful, besides the total number of steps (both are related).
- The way the program uses to manualy place the legend is a little odd. Why not make it a regular text box and move it with the regular pointer, just like text?
If it could also export in PNG or JPEG it would be nice, although you can always use Preview to convert the PDF to other format.
I didn't understand all the option/command, but I am sure it will be easier where there's a help and or documentation available.
Congrats for the excellent piece of software and thanks for making it free! :)

- customization of the toolbar, with other menu options, like Erase;
- I miss the "Underrun prevention". Is it enabled by default?
Cheers
