JAN_RYBAR ForkLift is not a simple FTP as you can read in developer web: "Dual pane file manager and SFTP/FTP client for Mac OS X." So it IS a file manager. (Version 1.6)

I just emailed you a version that works with the shift key. It is still called pwrWndws and it accepts the same password. NB It is slower and you need Assistive Devices on. These are the two main reasons why I changed to a dialog box. (Version 1.1)

EASER I am hard-pressed to say ForkLift is better than PathFinder. ForkLift clearly has advantages in terms of ftp and dual-pane. Short of that, PathFinder is far more customizable and has more features. For example, PathFinder allows the option of column view. It also allows one to enlarge icon and font sizes to whatever you want, including in the side bar. Neither ForkLift nor Finder give you that. (ForkLift does allows some size increases in the main view, but not in the sidebar.) Reach age 50 and tell me how well your eyesight is working and whether you don't appreciate some of these qualities in a file manager. I can also change icons and select default opening programs in PathFinder (just as one can with Finder); ForkLift does not allow for that. So, at the least, please be more clear in terms of exactly how you see ForkLift as better than PathFinder. Anyone can express an opinion; but most people read reviews for substance and information. OpenOffice.org | Jul 17 2008 |
JAN_RYBAR With Version 3.0, OpenOffice.org is now able to run on Mac OS X without the need for X11. Thus, OpenOffice.org behaves like any other Aqua application. The cool thing is, while the market leading office suite vendor dropped VBA support and the Solver feature, OpenOffice.org recently introduced limited VBA support and includes a powerful Solver component. In addition, OpenOffice.org integrates well with the Mac OS X accessibility APIs, and thus offers better accessibility support than many other Mac OS X applications. Finally, people like OpenOffice.org 3.0 for Mac OS X because of its very good stability and performance. Reportedly, some Mac users have switched to OpenOffice.org just because of its extremely good stability. VERYCARLA However it does NOT have any effect on the song tags, which means if you add the tracks to iTunes it will still display the songs correctly, and also rename the files to comply with the tags. I know this because I just copied a bunch of Japanese music with Japanese tags from my iPod. I copied the files to my desktop, where they showed up as garbage characters. Upon importing them into iTunes however they appeared normal and showed up correctly in the iTunes Library folder. (Version 0.50.1b6)

JAN_RYBAR I do not think that all central and southern European languages are just 0.1%. :( I do not know ANY Mac OS X software with such a bug - we live in a unicode world, don't we? PowerPC and Intel OS X 10.4.9 (US version) do this: áéíóú???žš? -> áéíóúu?c?r?z?s?e? (Version 4.8)
