Spanning Sync
Mar 19 2007
**...

JAGOOAH  Let's get one thing out of the way: the software works, and works well. HOWEVER, these guys are out of their mind when it comes to pricing... My recommendation: buy it for one year only, because you can bet anything that Apple and/or Google and/or third-parties will come out with a cheaper way to sync iCal with Gcal before your subscription runs out. And Spanning Sync will be out of business. Serves them well for pricing this software out of the roof.

JAGOOAH  Works as advertised: syncs your iCal @ Google calendar seamlessly! It's still in beta, but I haven't run into any problems.

JAGOOAH  A nifty little app that does exactly what it says it will, and does it well! Heartily recommended, whether you have a PPC or Intel Mac.

JAGOOAH  It's so good, I donated $10! I rarely give out my money, but I'm even thinking giving them another 10. Amazing IM program.

Delicious Library

****½

JAGOOAH  This software is great. It'll be even greater once us Europeans can have full access to our local Amazon databases, but for a casual use, the US Amazon works pretty well.

My only question is: why doesn't Delicious Library use the CDDB database, as iTunes does?

DAVID  I may be wrong but I think the CDDB info it tied to something other than UPC code or any other marking on the case. It may not be possible using a simple barcode scan.

DORKUS M.  I think Gracenote's CDDB service requires commercial developers to purchase a license.

JAGOOAH  Absolutely the finest wine cellar program out there. I've been hunting for one for a while, and this is it. It's crammed with all the features you could possibly need. Of course, the price is a bit on the high side, but it's so good, you won't hesitate!

JAGOOAH  It's a cool app. Hope they will "localize" it more! In any case, heartily recommended.

NeoOffice

****.

JAGOOAH  NeoOffice/J is based on OpenOffice but runs without any need for X11. It does this through some kind of Java voodoo magic best left to its programmers. Anyway, all that's important is that it works and that the annoying X11 no longer pops up every time you launch the suite.

What can I say about the software itself? Well, basically, if you like OpenOffice (and I encourage you to have a look at the reviews of OpenOffice to understand what NeoOffice/J is all about), then you'll probably enjoy NeoOffice/J as much, if not more. As for me, I now use Ragtime Solo, though I do not exclude the possibility of coming back to NeoOffice/J (or OpenOffice) once these programs have been TRULY ported to OS X.

JAGOOAH  Excellent program: does all it says and does it well. Lots of options to display CPU, memory & network loads. I would gladly pay for this piece of software.
