JWD  This engine looks really promising, and it keeps improving. To fans of open source FPS games: might want to check out Tremulous (www.tremulous.net).

JWD  This program is useful for getting rid of the mouse while watching YouTube in fullscreen, but it has some serious drawbacks:

1. Relies on a daemon that was using 17 MB real memory after one minute of operation (yikes!)

2. No button in the prefpane to activate/deactivate the daemon (had to use Acivity Monitor to quit, don't know if it will come back again at login)

JWD  I was stoked to see this application because I transferred a lot of programs from my old PB to my new MBP, and need to take stock of what's Universal and what isn't.

Problem is, it doesn't work for me. I tried running it several times and it won't pick up any applications. When I hit the rescan button, the progress sheet pops up for a millisecond and then it thinks it's done, but the list is still blank. I've verified it's searching the right folders. What's going on here?

JWD  This program is a perfect case of "I didn't know I needed it until I actually tried it out." The standard color inversion doesn't give you the option to make everything monotone, which means that you're gonna see a lot of painful colors when you use it. Nocturne does make the screen monotone, so it really looks great once the colors are inverted. The option to hide the desktop picture is just icing on the cake.

I've used Quicksilver to make the Apple-standard invert color keyboard shortcut (ctrl-cmd-option 8) launch Nocturne instead. Go Blacktree!

JWD  Please, please, please get rid of the pink. You're eliminating an important group of potential buyers (men).
