JPWGIBSON  No issues whatsoever on my MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac. Still also running problem free on my PowerBook G4.

JPWGIBSON  I have been using OnyX for several years on 4 Macs and have had nothing but healthy, consistant, reliable, stable machines as a result. This remains true with SL; the only thing having changed is an increase in OnyX's speed and increase in its functions and options.

JPWGIBSON  Indeed; it was the wholel "ASAP" that seemed a little over the top - especially considering what the developer charges for this app.

JPWGIBSON  Did you use the uninstaller that comes in the download? I downloaded 2.1b2, ran the uninstaller that comes with it, then installed 2.1b2, which fixed the problem for me. Was your problem - as was mine - with Parameters?

JPWGIBSON  I am no longer able to open Parameters on any of my 3 Macs; I receive the following AppleScript Error:

Can’t set «class butT» "enableASInspector" of «class taVI» "tabMisc" of «class tabV» "tabs" of window "paramPanel" to 0. (-10006)

After which the progress bar hangs, and OnX must be forced quit.

DiskAid
Jun 24 2008

JPWGIBSON  It seems that music has to be chosen one song at a time, in order to be transferred to another computer. On the Help page for the application, specifically the "TuneAid Quick Starting Guide" under step 3, it is stated: Click on "iTunes import" then on "Whole iPod". I do not see any such options. Does anyone else see these? Nor can I select entire folders (playlists/albums), but, as above, I have to select one song at a time.

EASER  If it's a preference pane, open up System Preferences and right-click on the program's icon. You'll have the option to remove it.

JPWGIBSON  What I mean is that there does not seem to be any action being taken by the developer against all of the problems that have been posted here. I have been very fond of OnyX for many years, using it on all 3 of my Macs; and then the troubles started a couple of months ago, and there hasn't been any updates subsequently. I certainly don't mean anything disrespectful or disparaging by my comment.

Microsoft Office 2008
May 15 2008

JPWGIBSON  It's slow, it's ugly, it's cumbersome, it's expensive: in short, it's a Microsoft product. Get this slack-jawed piece of poorly-thought-out trash off of your Mac and get a real (and free!)word processor – Neo Office.

JPWGIBSON  Interestingly, I did an erase and install of Leopard (due to an unrelated matter – I was giving this Mac to my mother for her use, and wanted her to personalize it). Out of curiosity I installed OnyX again after this, and ran what seemed to be the problematic function (LaunchServices). No problems whatsoever were encountered this time.

JPWGIBSON  Another error message and hangup . . . This occurs when doing "LaunchServices" on a PowerBook G4 running Leopard 10.5.2. The message – this time – (see previous entry) says the following:

""AppleScript Error. Finder got an error: AppleEvent timed out. (-1712).

Any ideas and/or theories?

JPWGIBSON  Yes, it is definitely hanging; I let it run before bed last night, only to wake up this morning to find it still running. I was running "Launch Services" on 1.9.4b3 (on a PowerBook G4) when the error message and hang occurred.
