JMAY  I can't understand the enthusiasm for Ukelele 1.6.7. There appears to be no way to either see characters generated by a dead key sequence or to edit the Unicode-8 character to be produced. The help menu is of ZERO help.

For example my language, Cherokee, uses a two character sequence to generate each syllabic character. When I try to edit a combination and hit the dead key (the first letter of the sequence) nothing happens except for a window that

There is already a Cherokee-QWERTY.keylayout for Mac OS X Tiger but it doesn't work. Also, I have an OS 9 .rsrc keyboard I designed 14 years ago which works but can't seem to be transported OS X.

Isn't there somewhere a keylayout editing program that really works?

JOHN BROWNIE  To see the output of a dead key, you have to use the "Edit Dead Key" command from the Keyboard menu, then choose the dead key state you want to see. You can then see and edit it. It's all in the manual, which has more information than the online help. Your comment was truncated, so I don't know exactly what your difficulty was. Please let me know!

It's possible to convert old .rsrc keyboard layouts to the new format. If you want to email me the old keyboard layout, I can convert it and send it back to you.

I don't know what you mean when you say that the Apple-supplied keyboard layout "doesn't work". Do you mean in specific applications, or across all applications? Some applications can't handle Unicode.
