JDUB  Upon opening the app, I receive the message "This app is not supported on this architecture"...and I'm on PPC!

JDUB  Have been using this for ages quite happily - but it stopped working the day. Downloaded it again, but it won't stop showing the sad face icon.

Oh well...

JDUB  I did only have English selected! It kept warning me anyway and on a test app, didn't get anywhere.

I ended up doing the job with Delocaliser - Worked a treat!!

JDUB  Nice idea, looks good, doesn't seem to work too well for me...

After scanning and selecting English as my primary/only language, I then select iPhoto as a test, press delete and then YO doesn't delete anything telling me that 'There is no resource in a more preferred language in iPhoto than in zh_CH (or other lang)' with Yes No and Never as options - and repeats that a lot.

So much so, that I have to force quit it everytime.

I would like to be able to use this - any chance of a fix please?

LOUKASH  I guess that message sounds so strange because the developer is French...

It pops up because by default "Warn before deleting preferences in the most [...]" is enabled in the Preferences.

Go to the Languages tab, select all the languages you wish to keep (make sure that you *always* keep English!), then disable the "Warn before..." option.

Trust me, it also sounds strange in French. ;-)

JDUB  Interesting product. As a user already looking at Aperture, but not enthused by the not-so-glowing initial reviews, this comes at an good time. I'm sure Adobe realise this. Another point I've not seen mentioned anywhere is that, from the download, this appears to come from the Macromedia side of the fence. IS this the case?

Having the CS2 suite, integration with Bridge would be a nice move here. It has a similar interface, with similar Mac style GUI goodness, but some occasional display pauses - expected for a first beta.

I've just tried importing 1100 RAW files into the app and allowing it to setup thumbnails, etc - It's taking a while on my PB, but looking good still. I'll leave it for a bit to setup it's caches and see how it goes. Worst case, I could move to the desktop machine...

Otherwise a good move from Adobe - and with very crafty timing indeed. One to watch for RAW users...

ANDREW RODNEY  There are some seriously cool things going no in Aperture but the deal breaker for me is poor RAW conversions, lots of bugs and some silly design decisions. At the very least, Lightroom produces a much better RAW rendering, has a calibrate function and some superior editing tools. HLS Color Tuning and some of the gray conversions show how much Adobe knows about image processing. Can’t beat the price and maybe we can all build a killer app.

JDUB  What I'd like to know here is, why was this not installed with my CS2 Pro upgrade? Apparently, I was still running v.1.0. I didn't even realise it was meant to be installed.

After running the update installer, all support contract and installed update details are lost, so beware. On next run, there is a tendancy for the Adobe updater to then recommend downloading all your previously installed updates for a second time. Klutzy.

C'mon Adobe, I've paid good money for this - please make me feel like it's a solid, competent product.
