Aperture and TIme Machine still have problems as far as I can tell. If you leave Aperture running, Time Machine will completely ignore it (and not even inform you) and will not backup the Aperture library. Also if you make a minor change in Aperture (Editing one photo), time machine will backup the ENTIRE library again (which can be time consuming if you have a large library like I do). iPhoto on the other hand works well with TIme Machine. If you edit only one photo in iPhoto, Time Machine backs up only that one change rather than the entire library. Furthermore, Time Machine will backup your iPhoto library, even when iPhoto is running. |

How about giving people a few days to test it out, not just seconds. |

Why can I download the previous versions without an account, just not this one? |

Then why can I download the previous version no problem (linked from Macupdate). I'd rather use Leopard's built in VPN client but as far as I know, my university requires this cisco client and I'd like to have the most up to date version. |

It asked me to create an account before I could download the new version. I created one, and it still wouldn't let me download. Has anybody been able to download 4.9.01.0090 ? |

I wish it worked for Leopard. |

I don't maintain any of the webcams, I just chose some default cams as examples of what you can do with SlothCam. I have replaced the Paris camera in the latest version with a new (different) webcam. I live in Texas, and unfortunately I can't fly all the way to Paris to fix the Paris webcam. :) |

Fixed it. It involved adding a on screen display font at ~/.mplayer/font |

The only way I could see that happening would be if the image file is large enough to take up that kind of bandwidth even though Slothcam is only requesting the image once per minute |

I downloaded the source and compiled it. It works fine except I no longer see the text overlay on the screen when I change the volume, seek, etc. There used to be white text that would show up with a seek bar or with the volume level. Anybody know how to enable this? |

The only advantage of DockStar right now is that it works in Leopard and Badger does not. |

That really confused me when it said I needed admin utility 5.0 and there was no such thing (as far as I could tell). Does this update the base station or just the admin utility? I thought it said base station update... |

The reason it did not work for me before was because I apparently had an album on Facebook with a funky name. After clearing that up it works great! |

Sounds like a good idea for a program! It's really annoying explaining to people how to do something on a computer over the phone or email without visualization! |

Nice, I have no idea how I missed that. Now my only issue with Safari is the memory usage, but I guess its a valid tradeoff for speed... |

For me, mail links open in new windows, not in tabs. Any idea how to enable this feature? |

What I was talking about was links opened from other applications (such as mail). Camino opens all external links in tabs too. I wish Safari did that but I can use the "merge all windows" feature for now... |

I agree with those comments 100%. I actually think Safari is a bit faster than Camino now with 3.0 but it uses more memory so its a bit of a trade off. I wish that you could open new links in tabs too. One way around this is to use the option in the "Window" menu that says "merge all windows". I even added a keyboard shortcut to do that. |

Why don't you just download the non beta version. That version has a free trial. |

The fact that I can now talk with my Mac's internal mic with little to no echo is the best feature Skype has added in a long time. I have a headset but sometimes it's inconvenient to get it out, so this feature is great. The yearly subscription for North America long distance is great too. |

It doesn't work for me. When I try logging in it says "There was a problem retrieving your user information". I have contacted tech support but as of now it just does not work. Great idea though! |

It's probably a problem with the headset or the adapter, not Skype. |

To the previous reviewer: I like being able to pop into dashboard and see a random photo from the past. I have over 5500 photos, so its cool to see an old photo that I forgot about and sort of rediscover it. Anyways that is why i find this widget useful. It does not replace iPhoto, its purpose for me is more to act as a mini slideshow. This version fixes all of the bugs from the previous version so I'm giving it five out of five. |

I dont think you can put the pic online with safari, you just preview it in safari... |

You added my random picture idea! Thanks! Any chance it might be resizable in the future? Thanks for the great widget. |

Well it used to be and I didn't change the description. Slothcam is more customizable though because you can add any number of webcams each with its own refresh rate, and also resize it etc. |

It would be cool if you could do something with this similar to the myPhoto widget (which I cant seem to find online anymore but luckily I still have it installed). With this widget you could see a random picture from your iPhoto library each time dashboard was activated. It would be cool if you could expand on this by making the picture open full size in iPhoto if you clicked on it, or something like that. Good start anyways! Thanks for the widget! |
