IANWEIR I'm interested to know if the next version will be AceReader Pro Deluxe Plus Super Ultra Mega-Platinum Ultimate Extreme. Surely the names of this suite of programs could be simplified into something that makes a bit more sense and serves to inform rather than confuse, as they do currently. Looking briefly over your website, I can't find any semblance of a logical pattern to your naming conventions, which as I already stated serves only to confuse your potential customers. When you need to put descriptions such as "(Single User Home Edition)" and "(Network School Edition)" next to the product names, and even include a survey so that customers can figure out which version they're after, it's a pretty clear warning bell that you've made things a bit too complicated. I think you should consider these names: AceReader Home (formerly AceReader Pro) AceReader Home (Multi-User) (formerly AceReader Pro Deluxe) AceReader School (formerly AceReader Pro Deluxe Plus) AceReader School (Multi-User)/(Network) (formerly AceReader Pro Deluxe Network) This way your potential customers understand the differences without having to consult a chart, and you don't get caught up in the excessive and needless descriptives that really only take away from the name and brand. I was personally looking for one equipped with a hypergate and and game-play from the Original Escape Velocity to break up the monotony. Seriously though, homeboys naming scheme makes a hell of a lot more sense to me than the one thats currently in place. Im sure I could go to your site and figure out the difference, but thats borderline making me do work, which I hate. (Version 5.0k)

IANWEIR This functionality is already built in, from Tiger-onwards for sure, and I'm pretty sure quite some time before that. Just press command-shift-4 to get the crosshairs (for a selection), and if you would like to take a screenshot of a window, press the spacebar at this point and the cursor will turn into a camera and you can take screenshots of windows. If you add control to the previous key combination, it will put the screenshot in your clipboard instead of on the desktop. You can also use command-shift-3 and command-control-shift-3 to take normal screenshots & put them into the clipboard, respectively. (Version 1.0)

Play MiTunes | Dec 15 2007 |
IANWEIR If you want a quicksilver for itunes, you can use quicksilver. Just set up a custom trigger to whatever key combo you want (I use option+space), and for the 'Item' select 'iTunes', hit /, and then select 'Music Library'. For the 'Action' enter 'Search Contents'. Then go to quicksilver preferences>actions>iTunes Music and make sure that whatever you want to do with the songs selected by this trigger is at the top. Personally I have 'Play next in Party Shuffle' first. Then you just hit your key combo, type a bit of the song title and hit enter. (note that you cannot search artists/albums with this method, but you could swap out 'Music Library' for 'Browse Artists', 'Browse Albums', et cetera to get this behavior) (Version 2.1.1)

IANWEIR This is a lovely program - makes it a lot easier for me to check at a glance to see if pages I've built are valid. My sole complaint is that it seems to break the built-in find capability within page source windows. When you're searching through pages of code you've never seen before, this is an invaluable ability. Aside from that, a wonderful program, especially for an 0.2.2b release. (Version 0.2.2b)

IANWEIR While a lovely application, it appears to have some rather significant RAM leaks. Every time that I hide the icons on my desktop, the ram usage increases - it doesn't take long to get its ram usage up to 240 MB - if I had more ram, (or less other programs open) I could get it harder. Mouseposé | Feb 24 2006 |
IANWEIR Nice little program, but I have a few suggestions - First, it would be nice if the é actually displayed as such, because it is quite consistently something else in a lot of places. Second, if it faded in quickly, rather than just turning on and off like a switch, it would look better. Third, it would be a lot easier if you could paste in the license code rather than having to type it out. ( on that note, the program said it was valid when I still had two characters to type in. Odd.) Fourth, as was already said, it would be nice if it was invisible - No dock icon, no menu bar item. Fifth, there isn't much point in being able to activate it from the menu, because if you can access the menu item, you must have use of your mouse, no? Aside from that, it's a great program, and I'm sure I will get lots of use out of it. (Version 1.3)

First, it would be nice if the é actually displayed as such, because it is quite consistently something else in a lot of places. Sorry about that. We surely would like to have it read Mouseposé here as well. Second, if it faded in quickly, rather than just turning on and off like a switch, it would look better. Good suggestion. It's on the todo list. Third, it would be a lot easier if you could paste in the license code rather than having to type it out. ( on that note, the program said it was valid when I still had two characters to type in. Odd.) The behaviour you describe is indeed odd. If you have your license copied to the pasteboard (using Command-C) before you enter the registration dialog, it will be recognised automatically. We are working on a web page to illustrate this. Fourth, as was already said, it would be nice if it was invisible - No dock icon, no menu bar item. It is very complicated to have a cocoa application which does not either appear in the Dock or as a Menu item. We are certainly looking for options. Fifth, there isn't much point in being able to activate it from the menu, because if you can access the menu item, you must have use of your mouse, no? You can alway use the hotkey which is F1 by default but can be set using the prefs. Boinx Software (Version 1.3)

IAN WEIR Not to be confrontational, but you are pretty much entirely wrong. Some information about an IP can be found by doing a whois lookup. Which, as somebody else pointed out, can be done using the terminal. Databases such as this, however, are something different all together. Quote from http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/node/view/9 "Also, it should be noted that the IP-to-Country Database seeks to indicate the country where resources were first allocated or assigned" All it really does is find out what country/area the ip address was assigned to. If you are using a smaller laptop (such as the 12" iBook) you may not want to use much menu bar space. But that would depend on your own personal tastes and preferences. KIWIIANO The Unit Converter installed with Tiger/Leopard only includes US weights. Quite a few folk out here would like to have Imperial weights (for e.g.). Being able to insert you own values would be quite useful as an alternative to the reduced subset provided with OSX. iConvRate's BIIIG problem is that you can't save your Custom conversion. First, making it resizeable would be a VERY nice feature to have. IAN WEIR This is a fairly neat little program. However, it could use some work. First, it needs to have scroll bars. As it is, the only way to scroll the window down is by selecting downwards, or using the arrow keys. Not my favorite method to scroll through large amounts of text. Second, it seems to have some problems with songs that have strange characters in their names. For example, I got the current track from itunes, which was "Shine (YZ250F Mix)" by "Newsboys", and it gave me this error: sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `(' sh: -c: line 1: `curl http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Newsboys/Shine-(YZ250F-Mix).html' (2) But overall, I'd say this program has alot of potential.
