IMHO I know that MacUpdate Desktop can do more then the widget. But if you didn't install a lot of software that can change any moment, it seems to be enough. I'll give MacUpdate Desktop the free 10-days trial. Who knows ... (Version 5.0)

DP8 That widget does work pretty well (we worked closely with the developer of it to make sure it didn't abuse our servers), but it does not match what MacUpdate Desktop can do when locating new updates, nor does it automatically install them or help you manage your watch lists. (Version 5.0)

ClamXav | Aug 11 2009 |
IMHO Installed the newest version of ClamAV. But the information window of the program tells me that it is still version 1.1.1 (185), the same version that I already installed some time ago. Now I'm wondering if I'm using the old version or a new one with outdated information. (Version 1.1.1e95.2)

JCRAIG There are two parts to this program: the GUI (now at v. 1.1.1), and the ClamAV scanning engine (which has now been updated to v. 95.2). When you first launch the ClamXav application after an update, you will be prompted to install the updated scanning engine. Be sure to quit Sentry before doing so. For more information on how to use this program properly, check out the developer's user forum. (Version 1.1.1e95.2)

I restart my Mac at least every day. And almost every day a second time, when I'll be away of my Mac for some hours. Energy saving, you know. You don't mind about energy shortness and the environment? (Version 3.5)

BirthdayScanner X | Jun 9 2009 |
IMHO Found this software recently and am lucky with this. This is just what I wanted for a lot of time. Offers functions that iCal should have offered itself. Thank you very much, developer, for this stuff. It works completely fine for me. Mac OS X 10.5.7, iMac PowerPC. (Version 2.2.2)

With this kind of commercial peptalk you don't convince me. They can encrypt my data, but before the encrypting and after decrypting (when I want my data back as I sent 'em) somebody can make abuse of my data. Only if I encrypted everything it will be more difficult to abuse my data. (Version 0.9)

AllBookmarks | Feb 26 2009 |
IMHO Since several monthes I am using All Bookmarks. And every day again I am thinking: how did I manage without this little friend? Earlier I had to spend much time to find bookmarks in the organized clutter on my Mac. Now it's always a matter of (split)seconds to retrieve a bookmark I need. This is really great and very, very helpful. Thanks very much to the developer. (Version 3.1.3)

Jing | Jan 31 2009 |
IMHO Downloaded the fore last version of Jing (freeware), that worked on my iMac G5 with Leopard. After two days the program invited me to download an updated version. Downloaded it, but immediately after installing and touching the sun the first time it vanishes. Downloaded the last version since then several times, but nothing helps. (Version 2.0.13462)

Bento | Dec 25 2008 |
IMHO I started with the first version of Bento. Needed it for a.o. passwords. How strange: a database program without encryption or password protection! Many users asked for any form of security on the Bento forum. There is a new release - without any protection of your valuable data. As far as I see here Bento 2 offers correction of errors in version 1.x. Pay again the price of the complete package for that? Nowhere. I changed to Data Guardian, that offers more for less, only about US$ 20,00. (Version 2.0v3)

GSync | Oct 30 2008 |
IMHO Tried today the new version of GSync. It started deleting about 60 items, then seemed to transfer items from my Addressbook to my Gmail account and stopped with a FAILED message. My Addressbook has about 365 items, my Gmail account finnaly showed only 66 addresses. Could be that I lost Gmail addresses - and those are not in my TimeMachine backup ... (Version 1.01)

GSync | Oct 28 2008 |
IMHO Great idea! But also on my MacBook with Leopard GSync doesn't work properly. It starts and reports rather quickly that 60 addresses has to be additioned to my Adressbook, but after that nothing seems to be done anymore. After more then 10 minutes I had to stop the program. Hope that there will be a version that works properly. (Version 1.0)

LARRYMCJ You must be living in some kind of technological abyss! There are about ten good online backup companies and Memopal is one of the best. You might try educating yourself as to how these companies encrypt and protect your data...it's safer than sitting on your own hard drive in your own home! (Version 0.9)

IMHO I bought the elder version in February 2008. Downloaded today the new version via the 'registered.html' page - and got a message that I didn't fill in a correct code. The first time I was happy with TimeMachine, to put back the elder version ... What did I do wrong? (Version 8.0)

IMHO The problem has already been fixed. At a second try I mentioned that I had to wait some time after the sound, before the photo opening on the screen. Once I had to click in the empty space before the photo came up. Thanks for the reply! (Version 1.1.4)

IMHO Downloaded the new Pixelmator version to replace the elder version. The first time I used the fresh-installed 1.1.4 I could open a PSD-file. But after that PM doesn't open other photos. I hear a sound, but PM doesn't give a message what the sound means. Already threw away the old version. Shouldn't have done that :-( (Version 1.1.4)

Readiris Pro | Feb 27 2008 |
IMHO I bought this software some years ago, after using Omnipage, that became too expensive for me to buy a new version for OSX. ReadIris turned out to be almost useless. I sent an e-mail to the developers and after some time and a new e-mail they sent me an update - that turned out te be as worthless as the version I bought. Even with a very clean text ReadIris gave as a result a text with many errors and in several font types and font measures. Be warned! (Version 11.6.2)

IMHO Downloaded avast! -that I already knew from the Windows platform - yesterday and scanned my Mail- and Downloadfolders. avast! found eight infected files, all .exe files. Looks as a real Mac-program and I liked the built-in manual. Seems to work rather quickly. (Version 2.74)
