GUILE before buying a divx player be sure to check the codec compatibility list, it MUST have support for AVIs using divx3/4/5 and xvid compression. And good players have all these codecs plus some other formats/codecs, mp4, H264, ogm, mkv and so on... Mine is about 50 bucks and plays everything, even H264+AAC compressed mp4. DIVX codec is less and less used so your player will actually play only 50% of available AVIs on the internet, trash your reader, it's vintage now (or update it if you can, some divx readers like Kiss readers can easily be updated using USB or Ethernet, the best choose, it prevents you from changing your divx player every year !). BTW D-Vision (an excellent freeware available on macupdate) allows you to choose between divx3/4, xvid and H264. Hope you good all your answers. Good luck ;-) (Version 1.33) |
