Great S/W that works as advertised and I would buy it but: v116 still kills artwork.

At $65 a pop I hope this comes with a happy ending. I know my other outlets for RSI relief do...

I downloaded this once as it gave me the ability to look inside a large collection of old ZIPs without extracting them. Then, I forgot about it. It had served its purpose. The, it came up on a MU Promo so I bought it. I do not think I would be able to get by without it nowadays. Definitely a great piece of work!

The ability to peak inside a zip and only take the parts you need is indispensable...

Check out the forums at ripdifferent.com

Also, review your workflow for out-of-region stuff. Everything is possible - as long as one knows what one is doing. Admittedly, that is a daunting task.

I do not have any out-of-region stuff myself but I will try and get something and if you post at those forums, I will try to help. I am also sure the developers will help you.

While I do not condone piracy, I do believe that this is indeed the attitude of many Toast users. I also believe that the same attitude would change if they had real upgrade and affordability paths...

Another major upgrade - another screwjob from Roxio - still no REAL upgrade price. Living in South Africa, I gotta pay $100 for a new version - and I get to put my old ones on the coaster heap!

Again!

I stopped upgrading Toast after v5 (first Roxio version - Adaptec and Asante were affordable and REALISTICALLY upgradeable).

Thanks to another post here, I have been using LiquidCD for a while and since BluRay has not yet really arrived, I don't need Toast! And I am sure someone else will bring a cheaper competitor anyways.

Seriously, for free? I DLed the latest version a week or so ago and there was a problem. Emailed the developer and got a response FASTER than I have on paid-for products. And it's free?

If you work with any kind of web design or any digital arts for that matter where colour plays a role, you gotta get this.

Did I mention free?

I had been using other software for this but I just got it on the MUPromo (had the demo before, but it sucked). I figured the demo did not warrant the price. I am so glad i got it now - did a sample recompression and my results trumped what I have previous managed out of Popcorn, Toast and DETOX. I am seriously impressed with this.

Gotta agree with me mate from Oz - In South Africa, bandwidth is paid for by the megabyte. Each ad I block saves me just a little bit of time and money. Especially considering Flash ads can end up being a MB all on their own....

Still have to pay for another functional "upgrade"

Intel cost me $250 a year ago and now Leopard will cost me another $250 since I have a pro license

V1.2 does indeed work!

Thank you to Nokia. It is always comforting to know that more companies are taking us seriously. In the past (especially pre-OS X days) the general feeling one got as a Mac user was that software developers for major hardware products failed to realise our needs. Great to see the industry fore-runners for a myriad of hardware devices are finally realising not only are mac users needy but also power users. Props to Garmin, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and DLink to name a few...

Great! So now we have to pay to allow our apps to work on Leopard! I wonder, will developers whose products need to be rewritten for Leopard be chaging an upgrade fee - especially since many of us had to pay for Intel a year ago!

Try running it in Trial mode. Then forgetting about it (I did - don't use CSS that often as web stuff is not primary in my job). Start it up a long time later and...

TADA:

A cool nag screen on the mac is seen. Not registered I have. A choice must I make. Use and trial leeds to the Dark Side!

As soon as (a) MUPromo or (b) boss agrees to pay, register shall I

When I got this on MUPromo bundle, I didn't bother installing it - didn't look like anything useful. A week later, I installed it. Anyone who has ever installed devtools knows that Quartz Composer can do beautiful things. PhotoPresenter exploits this to the max making those effects available to anyone. If I could give a rating of 6 stars, I would! I had to make a screensaver for my company and was halfway through it when I installed this. Ten minutes later, I had a fantastic saver. EXCELLENT!

This promo has been the litmus test for Mac Software. How good is your software? Find out by being part of a severely contraversial bundle promo. If you swing the vote, you know you're good. If not, back to the drawing board buddy!

TTP has been a mac stable horse for many years. The last ver I owned was for OS 8 many years ago. It saves the bacon. Norton destroys your machine, period.

A caveat: beware of optimisation. Defragging on modern systems can do more bad than good. Google it to see what I mean.

Eburgian: I developed a means several months ago to order business cards online to printer's specifications (bleed, proper profiles, etc) where the template matching a company's CI is used on the fly to create press-quality litho-ready PDFs. Some places only have their CIs in FreeHand EPSes. AI does a terrible job of these. AI's handling of SVG sucks.

Then, I discovered Intaglio. Currently, my solution runs headless via the command line BUT it would be useful to manipulate older EPSes and SVGs. Intaglio does this beautifully and I have been meaning to buy it for a while. Getting it now would be cheese, man, cheese!

Leo - Intaglio's handling of SVG's - especially from openclipart.org - is far better than AI's. It has been on my wishlist for months and I hope we reach the target. GKON is simply phenomenal - I prefer its batches to Photoshop any day. And as for Amadeus, worth the money when compared to heavier (ie more expensive) sound studio

Intaglio AND Techtool - this is a must have! But that is only IF 10000 is reached. For gambling, Graphic Convertor has been my friend for at least the last 12 years now. I have registered up to ver 4 and not since. So, to get the new GKON, I am interested. Then there's SRS iWOW which I own and love. It add value to the package if you do not already own it. Amadeus and Cocktail finish of the value pack for me at least without the unlocks.

I am sure the other apps also have value for those whose interests lie in podcasts and auctions.

Fetch I used all the time until Transmit came out. So, to own it again will be like a phone call from an old friend (and his dogcow - MOOF!)

Mmmm - good to see that they have added OTF Post Script support to the "affordable" offering. I wonder why, though, in a new version increment (3 from 2.x) their is no mention of UB...

For $99 the feature-set competes with FontForge which is free but remains a beta, open-source, X11 challenge up to which many people are not.

The only thing that this app could benefit from is numbering pages or titling them when printing or exporting.

That aside, about 6 minutes after downloading I registered. It did EXACTLY what I wanted with no extraneous clicking and sorting and setting options and messing around.

A large CHM file was exported to PDF (1000+ pages) in little under a minute.

That same thing would have taken me days using other solutions I tried.

Well done!

Quick question: why would I want to use software that is going to be shareware when MacTheRipper does the same, minus the encryption, for free?

Granted - MTR has failed on one or two newer DVDs - but it remains free and otherwise removes CSS.

First off, it aint free - it's donationware. And the donation is fixed at €21 (just less than $30). That said, the value cannot be beat. I live in Africa and wanted a GPS route mapper that I could plot onto the areas that I occasionally explore (safari, hunting, biking, hiking). Other apps promise this but demos did not deliver or no demos were available.

After much fiddling to figure the UI out, I managed to plot several routes on my own maps. Bingo - just what I wanted. Its uses are not restricted to exercise fanatics at all.

I figured that once I'd got all my favourite routes loaded and plotted and it was working, I'd register. It took me a week. Worth every cent. I strongly recommend this app for folks who do similar things and want a simple, affordable tracking and routing solution that can use custom routes and maps.

Bar a few bug fixes (auto-routing crashes, not that I use this feature) TrailRunner works as advertised.

Nic work - Recommended!

Wow - such anger. Say, I understand this. I am pretty sure that my phone cheats when it sees it cannot beat me. Of course, I still win most of the time because the game has a logic error (note: this is on my Nokia, not David's BG) that makes it refuse a double if both players are taking pieces off, no matter who has the advantage. I am downloading this one now and I will give it a bash. Stay tuned...

I have been a user since BlueLabel for classic. Guest PC has grown up since then. I registered at ver 1.0 and have watched it improve by leaps and bounds. For PDA users: This works! Other emulators just do not! Make sure that your OS is at its highest update level (for me, SP 4 on Win2K) and ActiveSync installs and works without problems, making the USB addition well worth every cent!

If you have a DVD-R, make an occasional DVD backup of the Guest PC data files for each OS - well worth the trouble, given 'doze issues with life!

Indispensable software!
