Sparkle is great because you get the notice of a new update -- and the release notes. Then you can download, install, and relaunch the app. As a user, it's a very nice feature. Just my $0.02. Please consider adopting the Sparkle auto-update library. Then users would simply be prompted on launch to update or ignore particular versions. (Version 1.3.4)		0

MACUPDATE ADMIN And even if it (update checking) wasn't built-in, we here at MacUpdate would still post the updates to this software ASAP. It's our job, it's what we do.

IGAUCHO I think some clarification is needed here. The application does alert you to a new version on launch. What it doesn't do is install the update for you. It opens your browser and starts the download of the new version. This is where the Sparkle framework would be handy.

MACUPDATE ADMIN To Geoffrey: Thanks for the kind words. Sparkle is indeed a cool thing, and very handy for users. I certainly have nothing against it, it should be implemented whenever/wherever possible.

By the way, my last name is Hutchison too. Glaswegian ancestry. Ever read a book titled "How the Scots Invented the Modern World"? Great book.

D2X-XL	Feb 13 2006	GEOFFREY HUTCHISON Had problems initially, since I didn't see the notes that D2X-XL wouldn't work with the demo data. Fortunately, a friend had Descent 2 around. Lots of fun! I've had one or two strange crashes (sorry, can't reproduce them) But D2X-XL is definitely the best. Give it a try with the original game data and you won't be sorry! (Version 1.5.111)		0
