GENGIS  It works fast, is useful because makes navigation easier if you have many chm files.

The only problem I saw is the appearance of random characters af the end of the page preview. If I 'quick view' document_1 then quick view document_2 then quick view again document_1 these random characters change at the bottom of document_1.

For what I need it is good as is, of course I believe next feature could be page navigation.

Thanks for your software, good work with the improvements.

GENGIS  Dear John,

thank you very much for your comment and even more for your donation that made me very happy because it was the first I ever received!

I'm happy to hear you consider iReadFast better than other products. This was my goal when I started creating it, after I discovered that none of available programs was complete with all the features I was looking for, while many of them are pricy.

About the multiple words display, as I said in the private email I sent you, I can tell you and all the Macupdate visitors that this option will soon be available in iReadFast. I already have a good working version of iReadFast with this feature, so I reasonably believe it will become the next release of the program.

Thank you very much for your support John,

Gianluca Del Maschio

GENGIS  Yes, I could add an option in the preferences for this, but I believe it's better as it works now for two reasons:

- Using the services menu item already makes iReadFast the active application so you just have to press the spacebar to start playing, I think this is already very straight and comfortable.

- The automatic play could make you save the press of a button, but could very likely make you miss the first words of the text in case the program window takes longer to become active, or simply because you need some time to focalize on it when it pops up.

Really I believe that as the program is now requires you to do an extra action, but doing so leaves you all the control and you will never have the playing started when you not expected it. I would like to know the opinion of other users about this.

GENGIS  Hi BARQSX, I apologize if I never answered to your suggestions. I received tens of emails and I know I missed to answer to some of them. As you know I was planning to sell iReadFast but then I realized that because of bureaucracy and taxes this was going to cost me more money than what I was going to earn. I abandoned the development of iReadFast for some months and only some weeks ago I decided to distribute it as freeware, I know people who sent me comments and suggestions like you may feel this was unjust, but the option was to not distribute iReadFast at all.

GENGIS  Hi PIZZACAKE, thank you for your comment, I just want to say that from version 1.12 iReadFast already creates a service menu "Read with iReadFast" (if you just installed iReadFast you may need to reboot the computer in order to see the menu). I know this is an undocumented feature and I'm going to update the program help in the next releases.

Thank you for you interest.

GENGIS  It still has small stability problems sometimes (OS X 10.5.4), but Cyberduck is my preferred FTP program since 7 months now. It deserves a donation.

GENGIS  Happy to have made you happy :) ...please let me know how do you feel the new options work. I really think them can be enhanced to produce more natural timing but it could require a lot of work and testing.

GENGIS  Please send me any comment/suggestion about the new timing features in version 1.2. There are many ways to implement them, the one I used is just one of the simplest while enough flexible. I really would like to hear your thoughts about the effectiveness of the new features and how to improve them.

GENGIS  MUSUBANA It's a matter of taste: many people like to have a constant timing between the words because they feel the regular 'rhythm' helps (NOTE: also the Advanced Timing feature in iReadFast is designed to not break this rhythm), while others would prefer a variable timing. I will add this second feature to iReadFast so everyone will can experiment and find his preferred setting.

GENGIS  Thanks to everyone who sent me his comments and suggestions! You have given me some really cool ideas on how to improve iReadFast. I'm now working on the beta 2 to introduce some of them and to correct the most evident bugs.

See you soon!

GENGIS  Cassiotones, thank you very much for the review! It is the right occasion for me to specify a couple of things:

- The basic idea of display the words one by one at high speed is not mine, other software exists based on this principle.

- Because of the way the program works, the actual wpm rate is a little lower than the wpm reported by the program. I plan to fix this in the next versions.

Thanks to everyone who already sent me his comments!
