Leopard's Disk Utility will create AES-256 disk images. Considering that AES-128 is regarded by the NSA as good for 'Secret' or lower data, is currently uncrackable, and AES-256 is much more than twice as hard to crack - well, this is probably sufficient for most people ;) |

1.5 adds backup features, and full volume vaults. This last feature works really well - the volume mounts just like any other on your Mac, even though what's really going on is that it's a sparse image on the disk (I think !). In any case, this goes some way towards answering the criticism that most of these features are in the OS already - Sure, but Knox makes using them easy. Whatever - I got Knox in a bundle with PathFinder, so I'm happy :) ! |

Some people seem to have a problem with this developer - not me. I find his software elegant and intuitive, and XTorrent is no different. It's got to be the fastest way to download stuff you want - open Xtorrent, start to type what you're looking for (it auto-completes/guesses what you're saying), and there are your torrents, easily identified by quality. If you download TV shows weekly like me, Xtorrent is a must as it has support for torrent RSS feeds. |

The best just keeps getting better. Try dragging the tabs in the preview window - it's just so slick it's sick ! |

Wow - $200 ? Aperture has way more features and power, and only costs an extra $100. I might have bought this at $100 - but they've overpriced it. |

First impressions were not great - the interface is very modal, I wasn't able to drag and drop images out of iPhoto (you have to use the Load command, which is not even in the File menu), the preview loupe is just a blurred enlargement, you can't manually arrange the images - you're just left at the mercy of the automatic alignment. But... The results are astounding ! I threw some of my most difficult panorama source images at it and it produced output that's better than I currently have (made with the excellent DoubleTake). You don't need to manually adjust anything, it just works. It takes quite a long time to work it's magic, but I suppose that's because it's doing quite in-depth analysis. It's a bit unstable (still beta though), and the interface is not Mac like enough - but I would still consider buying this because the results are so good. |

Although Locomotive is an excellent, on-click way to get a working Rails system on your Mac, I just found that mine was eating up over 600Mb of real memory, and over 3.5Gb of VM ! There must be a memory leak in one of the components somewhere, so beware. |

Innovative software that 'just works' - it stays out of the way so completely that it's actually hard to tell if it's running or not. Personal tech support from the developer is first rate - very prompt, concise and helpful. Recommended ! |

Feature suggestion: It would be great if the menu could show the number of unread emails in Mail; that way I can avoid switching accounts just to 'check my email'. ...a hack to display this on the login screen would be fantastic too ! |

I'd love to try it, but it crashes every time I open it. Tried trashing old prefs, tried each of the 3 options presented on startup, but within 2 seconds of the main window appearing, the thing quits.... |
