G7 Come on. It could be worse. Here in Poland we don't have even access to iTunes Music Store. We're being discriminated by Apple, you are being discriminated by Adobe ;) (Version 1.1)

G7 It's a great system component, much better than cocoAspell (i.e. faster and compatible with more applications, including iWork). However, it's sad we have to download and install it manually. Apple should have included it with OS X, because Polish is one of the officially supported languages in the system. Mac OS X 10.5 is localized in Polish, yet Apple did not supply *any* Polish spelling component with the system. (Version 1.2)

Jing | Jan 12 2008 |
G7 You have to select "File" (not "FTP") above the buttons and click "Share". Then you need to specify the folder for shared files, where Jing saves the captured movies from now on. As the movies are saved in SWF format, you will propably want to download Flash Player Projector to open them. Just google for "Flash Player Standalone". (Version 1.4.3900)

Nemo | May 28 2007 |
G7 Well, it looks good, but I cannot send anything. It says: "Cannot post in server: subject required", although I am certain I *do* have the subject entered. I remember contacting the developer about the same issue in one of the previous versions. It was fixed... but apparently the bug crawled out again. Anyway, nemo has one great advantage over Thunderbird or Unison: when I click its icon, it just launches. Both Thunderbird and Unison jump in the Dock... and jump... and jump... before they actually manage to start up. After trying several times, nemo finally realised I have the subject entered (clicking the subject and pressing the Enter key a few times seems to do the trick, not always though), allowing me to send the test article. However, the subject line was sent incorrectly and turned into total garbage. Well... Nemo has clearly a long way to go before it turns into a useful newsreader. I'm not giving any rating, it would be unfair - it's still a beta version, after all. (Version 0.6.149)

Apple iTunes | Mar 5 2007 |
G7 You can download older versions of iTunes from http://www.oldapps.com/download_iTunes_mac.php When Apple releases such terrible mistakes as iTunes 7.0 that needs Intel Core Duo to work with decent speed, we can always download and use older version... BTW 7.1 seems to be faster, looks like Apple programmers learned something about the code optimization ;) (Version 7.1)

KAYELİ I wish people weren't so grumpy. iTunes 7 works perfectly with my G4 powerbook. Apple does a great job of optimizing with successive releases of it's software, and don't forget, while Soundjam and so on were shareware, we get this great program for free! I think this is great update. (Version 7.1)

RASMUSK I wonder what you guys complaining about iTunes do with your computer. I have been using iTunes (including the latest version) for years on several macs and PCs and currently use 3 different iPods (Color, Nano and Shuffle). My library is huge and contains all sorts of formats and I have never experiences any problems whatsoever. (Version 7.1)

ROBERT A reminder: Older versions of iTunes will likely fail to authorize any iTunes Store protected items... (Version 7.1)

DINOIMBLURSKI I had zero complaints about iTunes until this morning, when I updated to 7.1 because-- hey, it's Apple, right? They make good stuff. Now I can't play half my music-- that's 3,000 songs that now read as "0:00" in duration. THAT IS WHY I'M GRUMPY. (Version 7.1)

Apple iTunes | Mar 17 2007 |
RADDLE Yeah - but you know what? Lots of people *didn't* have this problem, including me. So it *could* be a problem with you or your set-up, not Apple. Just consider the possibility. (Version 7.1.1)

Microsoft Office 2004 | Feb 14 2007 |
G7 NeoOffice? Well, it's free and native for Intel, but still takes many times longer to start than PPC-only MS Office. In fact I wouldn't recommend NeoOffice to anyone, who can afford MS Office. The one and only advantage of NeoOffice is its price (well, no price can be better than free), but not only it is not fully compatible, but also unbearably and ridiculously slow on G4s and just slow on Intel Macs (yes, I have actually tried both, yes, Intel version of NeoOffice, yes, with 1GB RAM instead of 512MB, yes, everthing was OK with the OS, yes, all the patches were installed, yes, latest version of OS X). Accept the facts: MS Office is way better than NeoOffice, even if there's no Intel version. (Version 11.3.4)

G7 Does not work at all. First it displays "Searching for movie" dialog, and finally quits with "The movie notavailable.mov cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly." Well, maybe I'll wait for the next version... ;) (Version 0.1b)

Adobe Reader | Jan 21 2007 |
G7 OK. So, open /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/RdrENU80SelfHeal.xml in TextEdit. Find: Save, remove AdobeResourceSynchronizer from the login items, reboot and nex time you launch Adobe Reader it won't put that file into login items again. (Version 8.0)

G7 It shouldn't be counting second-by-second, unless there is only 4 minutes left. The terminal is quite amusing, though :) I have made a similar app, to be downloaded at http://pym.uce.pl/lost-en.html - this one counts correctly, as in the "Lost" series. (Version 1.0)

SuperTux | Oct 19 2006 |
G7 Maybe it is a good game, but I cannot tell it for sure, as it is impossible to download. For several days I am getting "Too many clients for /supertux/supertux-0.1.3-macosx-universal.dmg" message, from both mirrors. Maybe they should put it on a better server? Or create a torrent? Or maybe it isn't the server's fault. Maybe the game is that popular? Every single Mac user is downloading it right now? And then, perhaps, he or she downloads it again for their friends, children and parents? Please, please stop downloading it for a moment, so that I could get it too ;)) (Version 0.1.3u)

Firefox | Sep 14 2006 |
G7 "Ultra fast web browser"? That's ridiculous. It's the slowest web browser for Mac OS X I have ever seen. What's more, it doesn't use OS X services (such as the system built-in spellchecker) and takes *ages* to start. I wouldn't recommend this application to anyone. Use Safari, and for those poorly written websites that cannot be opened, try Camino. (Version 1.5.0.7)

ST00P!D M0NK3Y Takes forever to start? Sounds like a personal problem...or you have a very slow computer. Opens just about the same as other web browsers in OSX. o_0 I still prefer Safari though. (Version 1.5.0.7)

Firefox | Sep 15 2006 |
ZERROEFFECT Argh... I hate that people keep bashing Firefox simply because a) their hardware is old or b) they don't understand how to best take advantage of what Firefox has to offer. Sure, it takes a little more to learn how to set it up correctly, but the payoff is higher. This application starts in the same amount of time Safari takes on my shiny new Macbook Pro 2GHz with 2g RAM. It also runs fast and has fewer annoyances than Safari. My mouse pointer disappears at times in Safari, making surfing the web very frustrating. Get the excellent Grapple theme, then install adblock plus, tweak network settings, tabmix plus, fission, and user agent switcher extensions. You're golden. Until Safari is fixed of some of its quirks (hopefully in Leopard), I'm sticking with Fx. (Version 1.5.0.7)
