SCHOSCHIE  I don't know about FLAC, but it definitely runs on Tiger and it does split tracks as well. I've used it like that for at least a year. There must be something wrong with your system set-up… or maybe the latest version is broken…

LOUNGE DELUXE  And so you rate this free app with ONE star? That's pathetic and totally unnecessary.

Mozy for Mac
Aug 27 2009

G. I.  The only way to stop quitting the app was to delete my backup sets corrupted by the update, which means I had to recreate them as there's no export/import function. If you have custom Spotlight based backup sets it's a lot of work. After this Mozy runs but seemingly something is wrong, most of the time it backups 0 files despite I know some files has definitely changed. Amazing that one minor version change like 1.3 to 1.4 can screw up an earlier trouble free app. Uninstalled.

G. I.  1.4.1 is the same crap on Tiger like 1.4 was. Both configure and the system prferences pane quit "unexpectedly", backup doesn't do anything.

SCIFI  Ditto. Many of us cannot move away from Tiger for various reasons. If XBMC is based on open source projects, there is no reason to relegate your app in this manner.

Thank you.

TRONDAH  I believe you are welcome to join the project and add Tiger support. Or if you made a donation I'm sure the few developers working on XBMC for OSX would consider adding Tiger support for you.

SCIFI  That’s a typical remark we get when we make a simple request to not leave Tiger/Panther/PPC/etc. support behind on any open source project. It is understood that we may join a project and/or donate to it, goes without saying. If a team already involved does not know how popular Tiger/PPC/etc. still are and the reasons we cannot “upgrade” to Leopard/later and/or switch to (“buy”) an Intel machine, then we have the obligation to let the teams know. But there are more direct ways to let them know besides using MacUpdate as a sounding board, we should be using them also (e.g. file bugreports & such).

Thank you.

XPANDER  many of the dll's and libraries that XBMC uses are all dependent on the x86 architecture to function, so all those would have to be compiled to run on PPC first, and then xbmc would be able to make an attempt at running on PPC.

Still running on PPC myself, I know it would be nice to have a version for us, but I'm not holding my breath that anyone would submit themselves to such a huge undertaking for a dying platform. That's wht I keep an old pc and (4) modded xboxes around strewn through the house.

XBMC FTW.

TRONDAH  SciFi: simple request? In your previous post you sound like you are being forced to use this software, and it's really easy for the devs to add tiger support.

In reality, we are all lucky to have those few devs working hours and hours in their _spare_ time to get us XBMC for OSX. They do not have the resources to do a tiger port, for sure. No bug report will fix that.

That's why I suggest talk to the main developer, he is actually very responsive to requests and a really nice guy.

G. I.  Compact little app, but it's usefulness is quite limited.

As player: no equaliser.

As recorder: always re-encodes the stream and records into one big file. It should be able to save the stream as it is (e.g. 128kbit mp3 without reencoding) and into separate tracks based on the meta information broadcasted by most radios (track name, artist etc.)

APPLE_JULIEN  >No equalizerRecord Re-encodingCut by track< This is a simple feature to add but I will never implement that, to respect Author Right, and because a lot of WebRadio doen't like this and I don't want to beggin a war with them. But I think some other web radio player do that, you are free to use an other software ;)
