FVDG 3.01 solves the main crashes on my Mac, makes me happy! Now, support for the NVIDIA seems to be Apples's problem: waiting for 10.5.7 So, I change my opnion based on this update: it works fine now it seems!

FVDG As version 3 crashes the moment I add something to the timeline, I got an older version 2 to test: works perfectly on my Mac, any configuration. So: for some reason version 3 broke something that was fine in version 2...(!)

FVDG After many many crashes I can conclude this: I jave a dual display setup on my Mac Pro 2009: one on a ATI 4870 card, one on the standrad NVIDIA GT 120 card: On the main display with the ATI card Quicktime movies are not displayed in FotoMagico (You can add them to the timeline and they export OK but you can not preview them); Dragging FotoMagico to the second display will result in a crash as soon as you add an item to the timeline. In short: will NOT work on the new Mac Pro 2009 macs!

FVDG Crashes, crashes and blank display! Won'y work on the NEW Mac Pro 2009. I have two cards, one ATI Radeon 4870 wich has my main monitor, second display is on the second card, NVIDIA GFORCE GT 120 (standard). Didplaying on my main monitor movies (advertized as the main new great feature!) won't display, it leaves a blank white screen, pictures show OK. Dragging Fotomagico to my second display with the NVIDIA card shows the movies... but crashes everytime making a new file as soon as I add a Quictime movie! Not ready for final release!!

I got a dialog warning that was from.. Apples own type utility!! Then I took a closer look at my folders with fonts... Fontcase does nothing else then copying the fonts you want to your users library!! It is NO real font manager, it is an interface to Apples own build in Font cataloque. This is a LOT of money for a simple copy/replace programm!!!

AVETENEBRAE What is your problem with the way Apple activate/deactivate fonts? If it works for Fontbook, why wouldn't it work for another font manager? If you think the ability to tag, rate, preview, print preview, copy characters entities, sharing your library over Bonjour and much more, doesn't worth more than just copying your fonts in ~/Library/Fonts by hand, don't use the software. Rating the software 1 star just by the way it handle font activation doesn't sound fair for me :-/

TIM27 The problem with Apple's Fontbook is that it doesn't let you keep fonts where you want to keep them. Apple seems to take this approach with iPhoto and other iapps as well. Designers want to keep fonts organized and where they want them. Especially with thousands of them. Apple's auto-activation aslo doesn't work in Adobe's apps. You have to quit out of the app and then open it again for the font to be active in that app. That said, I have not used Fontcase because I am happy with FontExplorer X, so I cannot comment on it's performance. If it is using the same organization methods as Fontbook, then I would not even bother using it.

FVDG Nah, NEVER use auto activation. In my opinion no professional should. The firms I do training for with font servers also forbid auto activation. Activate sets, that's where sets are for. You need control over what is activated and deactivated. One remark however: I found that (the same case in Suitcase Fusion 2 and the new commercial FontExplorer X), if you have sets that have fonts in it that are also in your user libary, and you deactivate that set, this user library fonts get deactivated also! I want my fonts in (system/user) to be left alone... Fontagent Pro is the only one that does this the correct way

FVDG Simple, elegant. Love the preview options (text vs. waterfall). I NEVER use auto-activation, so this programm is all I need. Works like a charm here on my Mac Pro. Only wish: auto de-activate when quiting the programm!

Camouflage is made to hide the icons when they're too messy...i really don't see the point in hiding the icons on one monitor and not on the second. | |

KATLADY81 I like Concierge, but I'm always hesitant to update it. Do you have to buy the updates if you already paid for a previous version? Concierge updates often enough, so paying for each update (which are bug/compatibility fixes only, and not feature additions/improvements) seems a little crappy to me.

ROY VAN DER WONING I'm assuming that FvdG's "still" means that they do not fix bugs in "no time at all", which matches my personal experience. While some issues may take longer than average to squash, things such as remembering a window's position and keeping an accurate item tally does not seem like brain surgery to me.

MACGURUTECH Try putting all your ram on the same card as originally was shipped with your mac IF you have upgraded ram with 3rd party ram, as that is how to properly upgrade your ram on that model Mac. That said, after the ram is properly installed the dual core 2.66 xeon with NVIDIA 7300GT and OS X 10.4.8 will freeze n SL. EVEN with the firmware update for the video card currently available.Hopefully 10.4.9 will fix that but more than likely its SL's failure to properly code their software. Thats a shame.

FVDG Still can't remember view and position of windows. If a window is closed, a new window does not have the tabs/tabset visible, just one tab, you have to select the tabset again. After getting your tabs back, it looses the view by date/name you had set for each tab (although it remembers icon/list etc view now)

FVDG After e-mails with the maker of this, I now know where things went worong: you have to export the agenda with the SAME name as it has in ical. For .mac you can export an agenda callled 'private' as' Toms agenda' to .mac or webdav. For this plug-in to work it has to be called private as the agenda itself, only then it works. However, the server is SLOW to a crawl, so slow that you think your browser is finished or crashes and the agenda does not seem to load, only after 2 minutes or so...

It makes a calnder but does NOT add the entries from iCal. You make an account (webdav) at rapidshare, something like http://server.rapidcal.com/yourname and then set iCal to export to that. If you do, iCal reports that it has succesfully exported your agenda to that adress. However, in rapidweaver (and in your browser) you do get your agenda as set (thus with your own added lines and options etc etc) but all days are empty, your activities and entries are NOT there, just an empty calender. Besides: the server.rapidcal.com is SO VERY SLOW that any interesetd client would give up and would leave your site before it is loaded....

FVDG When installed it will reduce memoru to less then 2gb! It says so but it does not give you an option to cancel!! Further more: it says you can reclaim memory under the help menu... FVDG To be honest: I was no fan of NAV 9, but this new version 10 realy works fine! I used Virusbarrier before, but NAV correctly scans all mounted disks: CD's, ZIPS etc. As I get a lot from clients this way, I like an automated scan.
