Hello, it would have been nice to contact the support first to solve the issues you raised here. With some SIM cards, the modem you use takes longer to log into the network, so your modem might not be recognized immediately. All you need to do is to disable the automatic launch and wait till the modem has found the network, then run launch2net. For the menu icon and uninstaller: This might be a disk permision conflict. Since it runs on thousands of computers I bet you could solve this on yours. Just detach the modem, start your Mac from the System CD/DVD and run disk utility, then choose "Repair permissions". Then install launch2net again, wait till the Mac has restarted, attach the modem and when it has a signal, run launch2net. ;-) Jan Fuellemann (nova media) |

Hi, please do not forget to contact our support at mac@novamedia.de for help. For the crashes, please see if you have the latest firmware installed on the Nokia, older ones tend to be unstable. You can exclude the maps from the automatic backups in the "phone settings". Thank you Jan Fuellemann |

Hi pilotex first of all I am sorry your experience is not the one you thought you would have. We are using the same modem here and with all mobile devices, the speed depends on the network provider and the server at the other end. If e.g. many users are using the same broadcast cell, the bandwith is divided by all users and the speed will drop. So please check first if your network provider is offering full HSDPA coverage in your area all the time. This might not be the case. But even though we think launch2net can not be the cause for this, you can contact mac@novamedia.de for a refund once you de-activate your software and tell us so. Dear Halldorg, we tried to reach you for several days and you did not respond. You changed to a new Mac and you claimed FoneLink could not be activated. When we asked for you to give us the Hardware ID (The unique "name" of any Apple computer), it was "00000000". This is not an Hardware ever used for a product by Apple which goes on sale and therefore any program using a Hardware ID for registration will malfunction on your Computer. Then we apologized for this inconvenience and asked you to send us the system profiler file, so that we can check if there is a malfunction either on your motherboard or on the software or if you are using a program to "cloak" this hardware ID. Hello HALLDOR GISLASON this seems to be more than strange. Are you really reviewing FoneLink? We support 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 on IntelMacs and PowerPC Macs and of course on the new IntelMac as well. Please send of copy of the mail you seem to have received from us to fuellemann@novamedia.de so I can sort this out. Even if it was true, we would have refunded the money immediatly. Your 9500 Nokia: Thanks for testing FoneLink. It seems you have a very old Firmware on your Nokia and this firmware can not understand the necessary protocols. Hello, Motorola phones are already on our To-Do list. Most of those phones do not support any standard sytem like SyncML or Symbian and have to be handled in a different way. Hi gryphonent, the 6230 can not be supported - this phone can not understand the necessary commands ;-( This is the reason it is not listed in the compatible phones list. Be sure to check this list first ;-)) But the K800i works completly - we are using it here ourselves. So is looks like another program is using the BT port (Address Book, Bluephone, BT-Fileexchange). Please close this program first then run FoneLink. Oh yes - we do have a support ;-) So please, if you take time to write a review here, please take time to contact our support as well. Hello snozdop thank you very much for your valuable comments and the time it took you to test FoneLink and to write down this review. It looks like FoneLink works fine but we have to work on some Interface glitches ;-) We have received many comments about the GUI and nearly all of them positive. But you are right that glitches have to be fixed asap. We are working to correct them as I write this and the same goes for parts of the english translation. Hi I have been in Holidays, so sorry for the late reply. We have about 20 users here using your PC Card model, so we know it works fine here and in other countries. Since we offer a demo to test the behaviour of any PC Card or mobile phone for about 50 minutes and since we do point to this demo explicitly and I am sorry that you did not used the demo to try first. The reason for your PC Card not working might be a different internal name of the card - some network providers do have this changed and we can not forsee that. This the one of the few real helpful tools I recommend all my customers to install. Since most problems I encounter in my work as Mac OS supporter are based on corrupted permissions, Macaroni counters a lot of problems right in the beginning. Sounds silly, but I really sleep easier at night, if I know this tool is installed. |
