Type: Hint/TipDate: 11 Jul 2006 11:32...hello, check my comment right above yours.
As far as upgrading is concerned, I would not say if they would offer something special for existing (registered) users. But who knows, I guess it may worth asking politely...
Regards

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Jul 2006 10:37Great tool. And I do appreciate the French localisation much (English, French, German and Japanese are available). The only things I would miss here, a way to access to the server log from the client, as well as indexing/ restarting the Wired-Server (Administrator only, of course).
Anyway, this is definitively perfect for my purpose: exchange project-related files & messages with colleagues/ other freelancers overseas and while I am on the road (For example, you can hardly send a 150MB file per eMail that easily, and you do save time not having to explain anyone how to...)
Many thanks Zanka Software, again, keep up the good job :-)

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Jul 2006 10:27Up and running in no time, secure thanks to strong encryption and free. And well, it has been localised too (English, French, German and Japanese), and provides a fairly nice user management! Simply awesome.
Of course, this is no VPN but as a Mac only software (for the client side at least) this is perfect for my purpose: exchange project-related files & messages with colleagues/ other freelancers overseas and while I am on the road (For example, you can hardly send a 150MB file per eMail that easily, and you do save time not having to explain anyone how too...).
Running beautifully on a 350Mhz G3 with 256MB RAM (Headless "Blue & White"; Mac OS 10.4.7)
Many thanks Zanka Software :-)

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Jul 2006 06:23Awesome, priceless, this piece of software simply rocks.
Heck among other more useful things, I can now even record TV using the DC30+ card (MJPEGA through an Alchemy TV PCI), while still working, a thing that would not even be possible using only a 466Mhz G4 (10.4.7)...
Thank you so much, and please, keep up the wonderful work.

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Jul 2006 05:23Smultron rocks, there is no doubt about that.
And yes, the newer icons, those introduced with v.2 are, well, ugly. Thanks Forrestwalker(!), and many many thanks to Mr. Borg (and to every single person working on the app, i.e. for localisation)

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Jul 2006 01:47Essential, works perfectly well, exactly as the previous version, but with a lovely addition, these new icons & the sound option (Growl support would be awesome too, whether as an add-on or as a replacement for those with quite little menu-bar space...) Running very happily on my 12" iBook G3 (10.4.7)

Type: ReviewDate: 16 Jun 2006 09:16...basically, I could not agree more with previous poster Crucial.
As far as I am concerned, the issues I have:
- line breaks should be possible, right now longer lines are simply cut off
- text edit options are not those offered by other (Cocoa) programs, i.e. spelling or other text formatting options
While I am at it, these functions would greatly improve my use of the software too:
- print options for cards (Hipster PDA/ GTD like)
(- check boxes options)
- (French) localisation
Anyway, I use it daily (but print 6 on one is a waste of paper), and I am glad Mr Sagoo has made this app free (and Tofu as well).
Many thanks indeed, hopefully you soon have some time for us again.

Type: ReviewDate: 14 Jun 2006 21:11A must have.
If I had a wish open, I would join Fossman's request from March 6th 2005 concerning the 7-zip/ 7z format. Or at least RAR with password protection?
Many thanks to the dev.

Type: ReviewDate: 13 Jun 2006 11:09Very, very cool, even more since I can select the store I want to (France), but as far as I could tell, the German IMTS offers the same feature too...
Size is 0k for me, but I would not mind it smaller though. But should there be a feature I would wish to have, than a cache or a way to set up the update intervals (i.e. once a week).
And instead of "Click image for", "Cliquer sur la pochette pour le" or "Cliquer pour le" would be wonderful.
Many thanks indeed.

(Flash blocking option).
Many thanks again!

Type: ReviewDate: 1 Jun 2006 06:57Essential, wonderful, and in combination with SafariPlus, I have two great tools for easy undisturbed browsing.
Many thanks indeed!
(10.4.6/ Safari 2.0.3 (417.9.3) on G4).

Type: CommentsDate: 1 Jun 2006 06:52...many, many thanks! Frankly, I am quite impressed by such a quick reaction.
It is a killer app, definitively, but I will keep using SafariBlock as well, since I do want to block some ads from sites I otherwise (need to) navigate to: Flash animations tend to push Safari to the top as far as processor activity is concerned - my perfect duo :-)

Type: ReviewDate: 17 May 2006 12:15Would be the killer app if it would disallow any flash-based pop-ups too ;-) so far, I have been using SafariBlock for that matter.
But this is just me, SafariPlus does work just as advertised, it is nice and unobtrusive, easy to use (First thought I would find it within Safari preferences...)
Thanks jrc Software!

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 13 May 2006 02:09For me as well, this bug described (from "Anonymous") on July 7th 2005 remains: the XMenu icon still appears in the extreme right corner, behind the spotlight icon(!) on start-up if the option "display on left from menu extras" is unset.
And I use custom icons, most of which are not displayed as such (Some are, other appear as generic).
Awesome program otherwise, perfect for OS 9 refugees or those willing to keep the dock as free as possible.
A nice tool I would not want to miss.

Many thanks to the developer!

Type: ReviewDate: 30 Apr 2006 17:41Has long been essential to me, almost as much as quite every piece of software from Hide Itoh/ Pixture Studio.
Wonderful, awesome. Many thanks indeed!

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 30 Apr 2006 17:31Is this me or does the password-protect functionality just does not work? (At least Stuffit decompress without asking anything...)
If you choose to compress a single folder, you have to enter a name manually, and personally I find it quite cumbersome.
In extension, you can not opt to compress many folders as single archives, and need to name the new file... (CleanArchiver does not handle RAR, but offers to "Archive Individually", among other things)
While I am at it, one or more settings would be nice to have (i.e. pre-sets for compression ratio, password & Co.).
The progress bar makes the software definitely more valuable anyway. Many thanks to the developer for this.

Type: ReviewDate: 26 Apr 2006 12:25Rocks. If perfection would not be so close, I would miss the ability to batch fill the PDF-Info fields (i.e. title, subject, author, keywords, creator) in a similar way iTunes proceeds for MP3 tags, and, eventually, the ability to downsize the PDF files...

Type: ReviewDate: 13 Apr 2006 16:40...for me a normal app in the first line, not (just) a droplet, really. Works exactly as advertised (G4 466, Mac OS 10.4.6), many thanks to the dev

Type: ReviewDate: 22 Feb 2006 18:48...while the GUI could certainly be much better (too little space for localised version, among other things), it gets the job done easily (while iBackup have not worked for me)
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 22 Feb 2006 17:29...first time I seriously use the software ever, the very first one being a kind of test to see the GUI.
And I thought I should use it.
Actually I wanted to copy everything from one disk to another, something I had been doing with CCC until recently (Before Mac OS 10.4.4): while 0k for the less populated folders, iBackup becomes a real nightmare with some others.
For instance, 1821 items are within my music folder, and I had to check manually every single one I have there.
Then, well I have experienced numerous Apple Script errors, -2753 (Task not defined? French localisation is not 100% here), and even -1700 (Folder using Greek letters; no problem with Japanese characters though).
Anyway I managed through errors and glitches, and could complete the initial setup, normally a one time procedure if you do not change your folder structure.
At least I thought I would start my backup right after the lengthy settings, and sadly I had to see yet another failure notice after a few minutes, according to which the OS would have some components that had stopped responding(!), which is something iBackup 5.0.2 would have detected, and it would now quit...
The app itself was behind this notice, and the GUI was almost indistinctable, almost completely black.
Now this is a backup program, and I do not feel I can rely on it any time now.
LaCie's SilverKeeper (v. 1.1.4 by the way) can not save many profiles, but had my job done.
