HandBrake	Aug 2 2009	FALKNERX Funny how all these new video encoders are coming out trying to cash in on visualhub's disappearance. This long-developed app is still the app to beat b/c of its presets, flexibility of output control, and because its freely distributed by an active developer community. btw, its also one of the best mac apps to rip dvds, if anyone still buys those anymore. ODYSSEUS I find Plex to be much better than Boxee, although setup is a bit strange. It has a nicer-looking interface (although that's of course a matter of opinion), but it does recognize iTunes playlists unlike Boxee.

SJK I noticed JAMUS also prefers Plex's interface over Boxee's. I haven't tried either (or XBMC) yet; just looking at some opinions for now (the more specific the better).

JEEPEE AppCleaner and AppZapper work completely different. They look more like Spotlight and will not find hidden files and files with different names. When using CleanApp a little longer, and using apps, while the CleanApp Daemon works in the background, you will see that CleanApp will find more files.

AppCleaner is nice and works easier than Spotlight, but cannot be compared with CleanApp when it comes to files with names other than the apps name.

AppZapper is a shame. It should have been updated for years now, but it looks like the developer went on a long long vacation, with quite some money, because it looks very nice. It's easy to garantee upgrades for life, if you never update/upgrade the program anyway.

So please don't say anything about AppZapper anymore.

MACNERD1984 You tight arse. You always work for free do you? Give your time for nothing a lot? Do a lot of volunteer work? Are you another of Macupdate's philanthropic commenters perhaps? Attitudes like yours make me sick - People put their effort and time into making something useful and the best thing you can dredge up is some pitiful comment about it costing a paltry amount of money. I can't believe that you actually have the temerity to question the validity of someone charging money for their work when it's this cheap. If it were $49.95 I would whole heartedly agree with you but it's not. You didn't even have the good manners to mention WHY you felt it was poor value or what was wrong with it.

If you don't like the SW then that's fine, but why bother posting such an ignorant comment on it?
