Type: ReviewDate: 12 May 2008 01:36A great timesaver! Glad to see it updated, and I have never had an issue with APE, Unsanity, or this developer.

Type: ReviewDate: 26 Mar 2008 10:43Simply the best mail notifier in the Mac world. So glad to see it back as I missed it dearly.
Mail.appetizer was always ahead of it time, and nothing beats it for convenience and elegance.

Type: CommentsDate: 16 Mar 2008 15:20Being an existing user I too found it slow until I upgraded. Maybe it is all the software registration constraints that are hindering the speed? I don't know.

Type: CommentsDate: 1 Feb 2008 13:55Here are some basic notes of the new features in v4.1:
Tinderbox 4.1 lets you
- display even more information in maps and outlines
- use agents and rules to move notes to new containers
- work with dates before 1904
- send email to a specific Tinderbox container, and take actions when it arrives

Type: CommentsDate: 31 Jan 2008 11:36Martin, I thank, and appreciate you for this application that has now replaced my beloved PithHelmet. You are also receiving a donation from me for your time and effort.

Type: CommentsDate: 29 Jan 2008 21:32Why pay for this? Because Onyx can seriously destroy your Mac OS as seen with Onyx version 1.9.1 that was released as a master versus a beta. This application has never destroyed my Mac OS.

Type: ReviewDate: 29 Jan 2008 12:12Finally! Now, it is possible to allow those sites that you want to see ads appear as they would with this version. One of those sites, for me, is MacUpdate. I am a registered user of PithHelmet, but it simply will no longer work for me for some reason or another. During the interim I started using Safari AdBlock, but to be truthful I may not go back to PithHelmet as this application is refining itself quite nicely, plus, it works.

Type: ReviewDate: 27 Jan 2008 03:43I have many drives, and Spotless is the best means of handling volume indexing that I have come across. Since its beginning I have licensed Spotless, and I find the upgrade fee to be more than fair considering how much use and time you receive from each version of Spotless. The Developer is very receptive. I am anxious for Printer Setup Repair to be released for Leopard; another must-have utility by the same Developer.

Type: CommentsDate: 11 Jan 2008 11:45Warchild13,
Next time you visit to the grocery shop and proceed to pay for your groceries I want to tell the cashier that you have no intention of paying as two years ago the same groceries costs less. Spout your pretzel logic to the cashier about how it is unethical, and how you are getting ripped-off, blah, blah, blah (don't forget to tell the cashier how smart you are). See what happens next. You, and others, clearly demonstrate your lack of life experience with every post you write.

I've never understood people who purchase a Mac and then don't have the money to pay for anything else. Perhaps you should have purchased a PC and joined the PC community? You're definitely part of the "something for nothing crowd."
You've already said that you are moving on, "move on." Why comeback and whine if you've going elsewhere? Not to mention that you don't have your facts straight. Adios brother.

Type: CommentsDate: 10 Jan 2008 18:48Panic and the IconFactory have supported the Mac community for many, many years now, providing creative access to icons, wallpapers, and other free goodies too numerous to describe. They bundle their software together and the uninitiated lambast them without any historical knowledge of Panic. Even to the point where they suggest freebies that essentially ripped-off the initial version of CandyBar. Don't that beat all. The Mac community is changing rapidly, and I don't like what I see in the way of freeloaders.

Type: CommentsDate: 27 Dec 2007 17:16MCC's strength is its ability to reside discreetly in the menu bar until summoned. As with other commenters, MCC's dock icon, and showing in WorkStrip too (for me) simply takes valuable screen real estate and defeats the very essence of MCC. At least give me the ability to turn-off this feature in MCC's preferences. Luckily I saved the last version of MCC.

Type: ReviewDate: 12 Dec 2007 13:28This was a zero hesitation upgrade for me. The developer is attentive to registered users and open to betterment suggestions. Default Folder ranks in my top five of must-have apps for the Mac.

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Dec 2007 11:22First, PhotoPresenter is truly a Mac bargain. Second, Simon the developer, is wonderful to work with. I had an issue whereby PhotoPresenter was not showing all my iPhoto events, and Simon helped me through it by discovering that the error was on my end with iPhoto picking up a backed-up iPhoto library on another hard drive versus where it should have been.
PhotoPresenter is simply one of the best means of viewing your photo library. My entire family enjoys using and viewing it. With the holiday season upon us, I am sure that it will be the most popular Mac app on my Mac.

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Dec 2007 19:31I cannot stress enough how well Leap is geared to those where data is everything. Information can be amassed, organized, deleted, movedÑvirtually anything regarding organization is doable in Leap. Add to this how responsive and open-minded the developers are and you have a winning combination. If you are fence sitting on acquiring a license I would think twice as Leap will be going up in price when it is out of beta. Currently, it is a rare Mac bargain.
Try it, submit your suggestions to the developers, and enjoy a great piece of software!
Leap is the perfect complement to Yep, or vice-a-versa that is also written by the same team. Enjoy.

Type: ReviewDate: 27 Nov 2007 15:58Upgrading to 3 was a no brainer for me as Panic has now incorporated Pixadex into CandyBar for the $24 fee. Besides, supporting the better developers keeps them around.
As usual, this version is beautifully crafted and easy to use; added is a category for Apple's Dock in Leopard. Great stuff from a great developer.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 26 Nov 2007 11:56This is simply a must-have for me, and I can see by the current price it is still a bargain by any standard. Having used X-Gestures for years now I would be lost without it. It is easy to set-up, even easier to use.

Type: CommentsDate: 15 Nov 2007 20:13I wrote the developer about this and here is his response:
"LCC makes heavy use of the unix utility /usr/bin/su. It appears that Apple has made su require that a password not be blank. This behavior is a change from past versions of the OS. I am not able to fix it, although I will be making a bug report to Apple. We will see what happens. In the meantime, the workaround is to create or use an admin account that does not have an empty password. I hope this helps. Thank you for your support."
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 13 Nov 2007 19:11Well, I sprang for the upgrade as I want to support the developer. Since the USD is valued at less that garbage compost it makes the price higher than it would probably be. That and the fact that the billing goes through a middleman: Digital River GmbH.
Oh well, $12.95 is not bad.

Type: CommentsDate: 8 Nov 2007 22:04BeLight hit the Mac scene running and have not stopped. Their applications are more efficient, plus, better thought-out than their competition. Mail Factory was first with many features that the competition has now copied. If you want more value, then their bundles are the route to go in licensing.

Type: CommentsDate: 8 Nov 2007 19:16I am a registered user of FLVR, now VideoBox. FLVR was an integrated solution that worked well; VideoBox is a separate application requiring several more steps to achieve what FLVR did so gracefully. The full value of what this application is trying to achieve will not be reached until it is again integrated into Safari as FLVR was. Until then I am waiting until such integration happens while abandoning this version of VideoBox.

Type: CommentsDate: 7 Nov 2007 12:00This works well for me. I am waiting for PithHelmet to be updated, but during the interim this covers virtually everything on the many sites I frequent. I found one small ad that made it through on Gizmag. That's it.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 7 Nov 2007 01:35This works, and it works very well. Pages load quickly, much quicker than some of the other applications out there touting ad blocking as a feature. It catches pretty much all the ads with a few exceptions, and revised ad blocking list can be automatically uploaded. I wasn't expecting much, but was I pleasantly surprised; great job on the developer's part!

Type: CommentsDate: 23 Oct 2007 14:57Wow, I am glad COSJR is having luck as I have been a registered user since the StickyBrain days and there are several outstanding issues with this latest version of SOHO Notes that the developer is not responding to fixing although they are major in nature.
No forums make this application substantially less useful to end users. I had to cease relying on it for serious data collection as it is always a guessing game when the developer will actually fix a bug(s). A total shame for a once brilliant application.

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Oct 2007 00:54I am a longtime registered user of what is now Leopard Cache Cleaner. I had no hesitation purchasing the new LCC license as this developer shrives to constantly keep ahead of, or at least on par with Mac OS upgrades, and updates.

Type: CommentsDate: 27 Sep 2007 14:19Archaic licensing policy is the reason I will not be upgrading to the latest version. Goodbye SRS iWOW. Cool app, but insipid licensing. Hey, it's only a $20 app, why the hoop-jumping limited activations with no deactivation, and reactivation? Just plain stupid.

Type: CommentsDate: 22 Sep 2007 18:30I believe that you are misunderstanding the registration of TapDex. You can use it for free, but if you want what Yellow Mug is calling Pro features (the use of Vonage, and removal of Yellow Mug's small text line of their own product advertising) then you can buy a Pro license. You have to install TapDex to see what I am trying to explain. If you are not using Apple's Address Book, then TapDex is of no use to you.
Here is the description directly from Yellow Mug's website:
"TapDex is Free
We're making TapDex available for free as a way of giving back to the Mac community and getting our name out at the same time."
If you install it you will see what I mean about the Vonage its preferences. It only installs two files:
1) TapDexPane.prefPane
2) com.yellowmug.TapDex.plist
You can very quickly see what it has to offer, and delete it just as fast if you like.
Where it works exceedingly well, for me, is when my wife uses my Mac (as she uses PC for work on her laptop, but is under strict confidentially agreements, so her PC has no personal data on it, and cannot be used for personal use). She constantly asks me for telephone numbers and addresses, and this is the simplest means of her accessing the data.
Everything else you wrote I too share the same opinions. Apple has something brewing with Safari 3, and the iPhone, and it appears that they are trying to have syncing abilities (they we could only dream of in the past) come to fruition, but only through Apple related software. I do not necessarily agree with what Apple appears to be doing.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 22 Sep 2007 03:21First, I am not the developer.
Second, I have what you have, Jon's Phone Tool, and it sits around idling with allocated memory.
Third, I dumped Entourage ages ago.
Fourth, this developer does not force anyone to buy this app to use it, unless you want to use Vonage and stop his banners (banners that are not even an issue, more like a line that randomly mentions his other apps).
Fifth, why did you even bother to comment about it if you were simply going to demean it for the sake of argument?
Sixth, Spotlight is a dog. Use LaunchBar if you want to achieve better results or FIle Buddy if you want to go to the nth degree of locating files.

Type: CommentsDate: 21 Sep 2007 13:25Not only a long-standing Mac developer, but truly a value-added player for the Mac community. Those whom lambast Hamrick really have no comprehension of what his software provides, and why he chooses to keep developing VueScan. Just be thankful there is someone like Hamrick. Hamrick cannot deliver the worldÑbut he tries.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 21 Sep 2007 02:25The sad part is that you seem to be taking out on Hamrick what is truly the responsibility of the scanner manufacturer. Hamrick steps-in where the manufacturers fail, and get lambasted for doing so? Go figure?

Type: CommentsDate: 20 Sep 2007 19:06Okay now, I purchased a license, and as others have stated you are allocated more sound selections including a hilarious one or two. Oh well.

Type: ReviewDate: 20 Sep 2007 12:05First, I am thankful for this developer making this app. Second, the name is a misnomer as Grease Monkey has an entirely different meaning than this app's name, but no matter as the CreamMonkey does work. You must find and test those scripts of interest that may or may not work in Safari. Do not simply look for those tagged as Safari as there are only handful so tagged. The reality is that many more will workÑsome to varying degrees.
It is a small, but significant start as some of the Grease Monkey scripts are excellent.

Type: CommentsDate: 31 Aug 2007 18:50As a huge fan of Workstrip I am sorry to see that it has disappeared. I see no substantiation about the circumstance of how SoftChaos disappeared, just hearsay.
There is no "time bomb" as version 3.2.3 was made for Intel and version 3.2.2 made PPC. So it you moved to the Intel version that is where the issue occurs if you are running a PPC.
Since Leopard has what I am looking for in the way of Workstrip's replacement I am simply waiting out Leopard's release as my version of Workstrip works with no problem.

![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 7 Aug 2007 12:15You can still download the prior version of PithHelmet 2.6.7 that works well with Safari 2.x. Also, PithHelmet is really Honorware. You check the box that says "I Paid" based on you honesty.
Doc. have you tried removing SIMBL from your system and running this version on Safari 3.x? It works for me. If you have licensed Red Snapper, and FLVR, simply reload them afterwards.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 7 Aug 2007 01:36I do not know that it will not work with Safari 2.x as the installer "Customize" option allows SIMBL to be installed. I am glad that the developer took the time to release this version. It's a start, and the developer is clear about it shortcomings at this point, but there is nothing like PithHelmet, nothing. Mac users' are moving on from Safari 2.x. I'm using 3.x beta, and not returning to 2.x.
