EBURGIAN Highly recommended. I've used it for years. I synch my home computer, usb stick, and office computer with it. There's nothing like the feeling of knowing your files are backed up. When I ran into a snag, the developer was very thorough in helping me troubleshoot. Thanks Laurent! I paid full price and don't regret a thing. At this price, grab it... I might buy a license for a gift. (Version 1.4.3)

EBURGIAN Great program! Great user support! I've used this program since 2004 and recently ran into some problems after updating to Leopard and a new flashdrive for backups. The developer was able to quickly solve one of my issues and was very patient in helping me solve the other. (Version 1.4.3)

EBURGIAN So there you go. The psychological principles of schedules of reinforcement wins again. By making the unlock points easier to achieve, the bundle sales still reached the desired level.... (Version )

EBURGIAN Looks like the theory was correct: lowering the unlock point for Intaglio encouraged enough sales to reach the original unlock point. It's all about perception and the ability to reach the goal. Basic psychology here folks. Gambling works on a similar principle. (Version )

EBURGIAN So, we're ~600 bundles away from unlocking. Would lowering the unlock point to 3700 make us happy? Sure it would. Would it generate buzz and boost sales? Probably. The big question is would it boost sales up to 4000. If it did, there wouldn't be any loss to MU. We'd reach the desired target, moving potential buyers off the fence. Of course, as has already been pointed out. approcahing an unlock point without reaching it would be optimal for MU. The most sales without the cost of providing Intaglio. I don't think the promoters have nearly the interest in reaching 4,000 sales as the buyers do. The dream of reaching 9,999 sales would have netted $500,000 A nice haul for a week, but even 4,000 sales is $200,000. So, from their perspective, I don't think the promo tanked at all. My guess: no big guns are to be had, unless it's all about saving face. If that's a concern, there's already $170,000 coming in. There's certainly room to reduce the profit and take a gamble on boosting sales by either adding some incentives of extra stuff or easier unlocks. (Version )

EBURGIAN Has anyone considered that the promotion has stalled by the very nature of the programs offered? If these really are the most popular shareware apps, then they are most likely already owned by the majority of shareware purchasers. If that is the case, there's less incentive for an individual to buy. In the end, it becomes a bundle for shareware beginners. That's leaving out a lot of folks. I still think a game or two would help sales, although I'm not a gamer. For many of us, Garage Sale seems to be the eye catcher, just like Delicious Library was in MacHeist. A couple more new, interesting apps would probably be smarter than the warhorses of Fetch and GraphicConverter. In the end, by not reaching TTP, it lays the groundwork for including it in a future bundle, since so many have demonstrated a strong demand for it. Also, it's great publicity for TTP. "We're the highly demanded, exclusive app." (Version )

EBURGIAN I'm also stunned by the improvement in sound with iWow. The effect is even better on my desktop mac than my Macbook. The Focus adjustment is almost magical with the desktop, the way it seems to elevate the sound above the speakers. (Version )

EBURGIAN Not sure if I'll use the MU membership, but I'm glad it is included. Curently, I use Application Update. It is a handy widget to monitor updates of your installed apps. (Version )

EBURGIAN Didn't the original MacHeist prominently list the price of each app, not just the total retail price? I think this has an important psychological effect. It helps a potential buyer realize "just the two apps that I really want are worth more than $50. The rest are just a bonus." Also, I wonder why everyone is so hung up on Intaglio. Didn't I read that it is only a limited license for Intaglio. You'll have to pay to upgrade for the next update. Sure, TTP would be great, but it's still a great deal for $50. Maybe the lack of games is what's making this bundle less attractive to some. Personally, I like the collection, because these are apps I'd really use. Graphic Converter: It's about time I upgraded from my old Apple-bundled copy. Not a substitute for Photoshop, but good for simple stuff. Garage Sale: passed when it was on MacZot and I regretted that. Could make me some $ and pay for the bundle ProfCast: sounds like a great concept iWow: loving it, pleasantly surprised Little Snitch: not really worried about apps calling home, but it be interesting Amadeus Pro: probably not going to replace my old copy of Peak, but I'll give it a try. I'm not a fan of Audacity Cocktail: I use Onyx and like it, but I'll give it a try Fetch: I relied on it years ago, but have no use for it now Too bad there isn't a place for us to swap or re-sell extra licenses that we don't want or that are duplicates that we already own. Finally, I sent only one of the new coupons and my membership was upgraded, so don't sweat it about sending all four, just send one and you should be in good shape. (Version )
