@Jimwick : You're right. But I'm very stressed when a user tells me that there is a new problem. Sometimes it comes from a specific Mac. Now it's holydays and I think I'm going to take my time before releasing a new version 8-)

Hi,

You right, I forgot that !

Be sure I'll correct that for the next version ;-) Stay (i)tuned

Well, CoverSutra works because it doesn't list shared playlists and other things. Maybe I got to remove shared libraries from TotalTunes Control

icon

Hoo I understand... previous versions of TTC couln't work properly ? I thought you meant that the "iTunes" popup can't be used.

I've removed the "current playlist" display in 2.3 because there were a lot of problem with it. That's maybe why it now works on your computer, even with Shared libraries.

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 6 Jun 2008 07:48

You are asking something difficult because I've searched how to get Airport libraries and I can't find a way to get them.

Also, TotalTunes Control is offering something that no other controllers got : Playlists, TV Shows, and Movies selection. And this is just a feature. You can use it like any other iTunes controller (like CoverSutra).

If I can find a way out, be sure I'll implement it.

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 1 Jun 2008 12:34

Yeah, why not. But I was thinking about the ability to not launch iTunes and directly use iTunes library from the file located in ~/Music. It will avoid using more memory and CPU.

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 1 Jun 2008 12:32

No hotkeys oO Take a lot at preferences panel. There is a lot of options. And the controller can be used in smaller sizes

This app has a great value. However There is some bugs.

Maybe it will help the developer :

- Fullscreen CoverFlow then click on the info button. An alert shows up, but I can't see it because I'm in CoverFlow full screen. Esc doesn't work. Had to force quit the app

- Preferences : quickly switch from general to next prefrence, then next, next again, then back, back. And "boom", preferences window disapears and I couldn't show it up again. Had to quit.

-CoverStream plays only songs from the selected album. Maybe it should play the next albums too ? Or add an option for.

Anyway, even if I've made TotalTunes Control (an iTunes controller too), I think that CoverStream has a very good value. Keep up the good work, the app looks awesome

"I really, really hate to do this but the way Laurent acts here forces me to make things perfectly clear and to show that I'm definitely not a thief."

If you "really, really hate" to do this, why did you do that ? oO

Sophie, you're currently acting like a child by replying and PUBLISHING a confidential mail. I really don't understand. Even if you have or have not stolen avetenebrae's work, this is not the topic. We started speaking of TotalTunes Control, and iTuner said that it is a clone of CoverSutra. I've just replied that this is not a clone, where do you see stolen interface ? Nowhere. It's just Cocoa and HUD...

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 3 May 2008 16:29

You're justifying your review by the fact TTC became a shareware.. are you kidding ?

It was written and it's still written in the update changelog, the user has the possibility to do not install the update and keep the free version.

Maybe CoverSutra looks graphicaly better, but it has not so much features as TotalTunes Control. And as I said before, TotalTunes Control is not a clone, when I released the first v2.0 release, someone told me that it looks like CoverSutra, which I didn't know before !

Look, you're saying that users should switch to CoverSutra because it's graphically better and it is developped by a women ? Do you think it's a good reason ? oO

You're just angry because you haven't paid attention about the changelog when you updated TotalTunes Control.

I'm also developping TotalTunes Control alone, I've got no graphist to make my interface (CoverSutra developer has one).

If CoverSutra is better, then buy it right now. If you already bought it, why do you come here and make a bad review of a program that you are not using ?

TotalTunes Control asked and continue asking me a lot of work, that's why I changed it to shareware, and sincerely, what is 8$ ? Nothing...

icon

Don't worry, I'll make awesome updates ;)

icon

I gave enought free licences right now. I can't be sure that someone who contact me about free licence is really an old user of TotalTunes Control. I closed my eyes on some mails... but now it's finished.

Right now, I'm only giving free licence for users who previously donate for TotalTunes Control.

If you have not donate and you're an old user, you'll have to pay. I know it's a little bit annoying, but I realized that TotalTunes Control has grown and has a lot of work behind it.

And... 8$ is not so expensive...

icon

Thanks dude, don't worry it will grow up quickly.

And CoverSutra is... 22$ ;)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 27 Apr 2008 15:39

I don't know why everyone say that. I've done all the thing with my own hands, excepting Cover boxes which some users gave to me.

Preferences icons have been made by a graphist, for free, and for me. Interface looks like HUD style and CoverSutra is not the only one to use that kind of interface.

Shortcuts come from an opensource framework...

Then please stop saying "It looks like CoverSutra, you cheated !". When TotalTunes Control 2.0beta has been release, and didn't know that CoverSutra exist, until someone like you said "ho my god you tried to copy CoverSutra !". My answer was "What ??" And then I've downloaded CoverSutra. Yes it looks like CoverSutra, but I never stole any graphic.

Thank you.

Hi,

You can email me from my website.

In fact, the window is not main key that's why you have to click two times to set a star. However, try to download the beta again because I've just corrected this little bug.

If it is hard again to set a rate, tell me and I'll enlarge the stars view.

Yeah I know it and I'm sorry, but the fact you gave 1/5 for a beta is .. rude.

You should also download the beta10 because it's impossible to automatically hide the window when clicking on other application. beta10 corrects this bug

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 19:49

Try 2.0b9. The icon is kept in dock, you can click on the icon to make the controller re-appears.

And the default shortcut to show/hide the controller is ctrl+cmd+s.

It will be useful if you tried to help me a little bit more :)

icon

Sad but true like "Metallica" ?

Well, Mr., it's a beta version, and your help would be useful. But, you chose to rate maybe a little bug that could be quickly corrected. Sad.. but true.

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 18:31

Hmmm I dunno.. I'll see what I can do about this. If you think that it should quit the program and not only close the window.. why not.

I can maybe display an alert panel that says "You are going to quit TotalTunes Control .. blablabla" for the first time the user close the window ?

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 16:32

Even if you open it from the Dock Menu ??

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 16:24

Are you sure you haven't removed the icon from the Dock ? You should open Activity Monitor (Application/Utilities) to see if TotalTunes Control is opened or not. If it is, that means that you chose to run it like a background application (that means that you chose to hide the icon from the Dock)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 14:23

xD I love your comment

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 13:22

Ok I'll see what I can do about interface.

However, it is strange that the bug is fixed. Coz I have it on my iBook running Tiger.

I found how to correct the Dock icon bug on Tiger, it will be for beta9 ;-)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 10:50

Hmm I have the same bug on Tiger, but not on Leopard. Which system do you have ? Tiger ? Leopard ?

If you have Tiger, I'll try to correct the problem for Beta9 (coz beta8 is already out)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 30 Dec 2007 09:05

Hmm.. removing the icon from the Dock (see totaltuens control preferences) will also remove the menu bar.. Have you really try it out ?

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 29 Dec 2007 21:24

Note that the controller is automatically hidden when you go to other applications (it must be as discreet as possible)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 29 Dec 2007 21:23

Maybe you should launch it with the terminal :

Right click on TotalTunes Control, choose "show package content" and navigate to "Content/MacOS/" and open the executable "TotalTunes Control"

Then, tell me what the terminal says.

However you can toggle show the window with a right click on the icon from the Dock or just click on the icon and go to the "controller" menu

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 29 Dec 2007 21:14

You right ;-)

The new beta automatically keep the icon on the dock and let you quit TotalTunes Control like an other app.

I must think as a user and not a developer who knows everything about his application :)

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 29 Dec 2007 19:39

However, because you're the second one that have difficulty for trashing the app, I will keep the icon in the Dock for default. Users will be able to hide it from the Dock if they want.

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 29 Dec 2007 19:35

Hi,

the problem is that you chose to close the window and not to quit the application. So, it still running. When you first use it, you can see the shortcut preferences. And see that the default shortcut to toggle shown the window is "CTRL + CMD + S".

It is not a problem if you haven't seen it (but the alert panel is here to say that you should take a look at the default shortcut to toggle shown the window before closing it for the first time !). However, if you paid attention, you'd be able to re-open the window and then quit the application from the preferences button.

Try to launch activity monitor and kill totaltunes.

I'm sure that you have selected "launch totaltunes when session opens". Try to uncheck this button from ttc preferences and then restart your comp.

the best way is to launch activity monitor.

next time you got a problem, there is a contact email on my website.the best way if you want a quick response.

Thanks to you, the product is dead, have a nice day anyway.

Ok, I've checked Palette (a Shareware), and it does the same as Stacks In Da Place. Well I think there is no other solution for the moment. But, I'm sure that Apple will include a Stack preferences for 10.5.2 ;-)

icon

In fact, the app just added an unnamed folder, but it has been made for users who know how to made a custom stack Icon with this method, but don't want to do it with their own hands. Stacks In Da Place just spare some time.

Whatever, if I can find how to make it works without creating a folder, it will be the 1.1 update then ^^

icon
Type: Developer
Date: 11 Dec 2007 16:15

thank you ;-)

Yes, right-click on the downloads stack, then choose "sort by > Name"

Personaly, I use to sort my downloads by added date. And because my downloads folder is always empty (when I download something, I use to place the archive in the trash directly, I hate my folders being messed up), I don't really care about the stack icon position, it will came back to front anyway when I send the useless file to the trash.

I said that this kind of interface is free for everyone and Picturesque is not the first application that looks like that.

See AppZapper, for example. There is an arrow for dropping items. And then other applications did the same. So why this should be forbidden for a FREEWARE developer to reproduce this system ?

Moreover, about the interface, there is a lot of app that looks like Picturesque. iPhoto, iWeb,... the whole iLife board. Lets take a look at :

http://www.seanpatrickobrien.com/iLifeControls/

This is a free framework for all Mac OS X developers.

Ok, the thread about "a copy of picturesque" is closed". Remember that Resize 'Em All gives the ability to resize, and not more.
