TrueCrypt 6.0 was released 07/04/2008 (not on MU at this writing). Some of the weaknesses of the Mac version described above have apparently been fixed. Hopefully Gerber will be back to comment.

I'm going to hold off rating this on the chance I'm overlooking something.

In the URL field I entered http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail195.html

Since that's neither YT or Google I selected "Other site..." (which doesn't give you the option to say where the site is. It just remains "Other site...").

According to the directions the next thing to do in this instance is select "Download.. as a .flv file" I click but it stays grayed out.

Clicking Open URL does nothing.

So, what's the story?

"TapeDeck is a new audio recorder exclusively for Mac OS X 10.5"

I'll never understand why some developers deliberately exclude themselves from sales to a significant portion of the Mac market, i.e. buyers who have remained with OSX 4.11.

Where does the resultant blended file go? There is no pref for choosing a folder, etc. Until I see some results this thing simply doesn't work.

"QuickTime movies can be created as "reference" movies or "self contained" movies."

Unless I'm missing the point, all one has to do is make an 'alias' of the finished, self-contained QT movie and, "presto!"--you've got your "reference" movie.

After creating a 1GB test volume I quit TrueCrypt and relaunched. Clicking "Select a file" displays the just created volume--calling immediate attention to the fact that here is a TC volume! This happens despite "Never save history" and "clear cache" being enabled.

This is a glaring security weakness, IMHO.

Neonblue2, since my last post I figured out a way to dl the needed file, but by now I forget how lol.

Also the progress app was indeed inside but for some reason was not being recognized. With the successful download accomplished I'm happy to say all is well. Although... I wish ffmpeg or some other program would let a Mac Intel user reencode the old Indeo3,4,5 codecs.

Reason I asked is because F4M doesn't play some WMVs for me. Seeing as I never installed WMP on this Intel iMac [btw why does installing WMP ask for your admin pw? That's why I dumped it], I simply wondered if not having WMP installed could be the reason.

The way I understand it, the IP address captured by a website someone else visited may be YOURS if you connect to TOR. Let's face it, you don't know where someone else using TOR is going on the web or what data he's sending. His IP will be hidden but the exit TOR user's will not. The site he visited may be very objectionable to you if you knew. It's a crapshoot whose exit IP TOR will use in the connection. Maybe yours, maybe someone else's. Thus you could be the one logged as having visited an illegal site even though you didn't.

Correct me if I have this all wrong.

The only 3-star *** (highest anonymity) proxies that work are the same handful based in Malaysia. All others listed as 'available' by NetShade test red (closed). It's been that way for months. Suspicious.

But how can we be certain the destroyed file is being overwritten X number of times. Over thirty? How do we verify it's not 3?

As for the name being overwritten, if it is simply moved to a free space the filename won't show up even by a search for invisibles - right?

Thanks for replying

Of course, the user has no way of confirming what is going on. It's just on the dev's say-so :)

Important: are file and folder *names* securely overwritten too? It's usually just the contents with apps like these...

This is awesome!! Under options, set the "fog" color to deep blue and the "wall" color to deep red. Stare and enjoy the trip...!

Do you mean avi's using the old Indeo codecs? Nothing plays those in OSX... unless this is the first??

No "Play" button appears either before or after dropping file in. Unusable here but I won't neg rate it in case I am doing something wrong - though I don't know what, I read the entire PDF.

The game opens by you doubleclicking the Exegesis application file. When you do it fades the screen and brings up the loading screen.

The game takes WAY too long to load though. I finally bailed out during the "scattering the nations' load, which went on and on and on....
