NightShift

DESTERWALLABOO  There is a an issue with 10.6 Snow Leopard and NightShift.... it will download Webkit builds fine, but it is unable to overwrite the old version of Webkit. It keeps getting Applescript errors.

Little Snitch

DESTERWALLABOO  Did you read the instructions for Little Snitch?.... did you look at the prompts and options when the windows popped up?

You shouldn't be constantly getting prompts and pop-ups after your first day. You set things to DENY ALL CONNECTIONS ALWAYS, or ALLOW ALL CONNECTIONS ALWAYS for various apps. Once you do that, no more pop-ups... or extremely rare instances of them.

DESTERWALLABOO  Have you tried the nightly builds of WebKit?.... I've been using them as my main browser for well over a year without a hiccup. The current builds are much faster than Firefox 3.0.2

DESTERWALLABOO  I certainly hope so... Maxtor's and Western Digital drives have always failed for us.

SheerVideo Pro X

DESTERWALLABOO  You can always playback even if the demo expires... you just will not be able to encode anymore.

This is the best codec I've used for post-production animation/fx bar none.

SheerVideo Pro X

DESTERWALLABOO  Not sure why you have to have a powerful AGP card or have 3D turned off to use SheerVideo Pro... that doesn't make any sense at all!

Anyway, with that said, we use this codec daily in our regular workflow. We rarely render out in any other codec except for final delivery. Keeping animation files and such in a smaller, pristine lossless format is priceless. When we changed over to Sheer from using Animation codec we literally saved over 2TB of file size by simply converting our existing Animation codec files to Sheer. Also, Sheer supports 10-bit color space... something Animation doesn't support.
