DANNYMONTANI  By the way, I am running OSX Leopard and all updates until I receive Snow Leopard on Tuesday or so. G5 2.66, 7gigs, plenty of drives. I also use Micromat Techtool Pro 5.0.4 to optimize, etc. (I am always quite sure to keep about 20% headroom on my startup drive for different apps and the os to use as well). D

DANNYMONTANI  I have to admit, I was able to create my CD on the second try as well, but it do go without a hitch. My 'best guess' is that for some reason when I typed in my name and serial number on initialization, that the app did not like me copy and pasting my serial number. I've owned DiskWarrior for a long time. I don't five star it because of these kind of issues and there is always room for improvement. BUT is has saved my butt more than a few times. It is stable. Priceless for my photographs. I was not happy that the past version did not recognize a new ATI video card 3870, and they wanted me to buy a replacement CD.

VLC Media Player

DANNYMONTANI  Hold on now kids... how 'bout cutting some slack here.

VLC is... Freeware, don't like it guess what.

It's day one on the release, may well be there is a PPC version in a few days, or even months.

I have not used 0.9.9 as of yet but last version beat all the competition when I needed it for opening files.

**...

DANNYMONTANI  I've got to agree with the other posters that ACF does not work as it should. True that. It looks to be good, but does not retrieve covers that are... and should be out there. Apple and GimmieSomeTune (especially) work well and it blazes. I paid for this way back and have hoped it to come to realize its potential, not. I do hate the way it stalls my system... its own window and is very slow. C'mon there developer, I know you've got it in you. peace

DANNYMONTANI  This little program was a God send to me at a point a little while back while working on photos for a catalog of images for an art auction. The images were all 'barrel distorted' and with installation of PTLens I was able to very quickly adjust them. (I found LensFix to not work as expected.) The database of lenses and cameras was up to date. (Developer, I did find that the version 1.0.4 was not letting the registration 'stick' in Photoshop CS3 so I downgraded to 1.0.2 and it is fine. The only reason I don't give five stars is that as with anything, there is room for improvement. Thanks for your hard work. It is most appreciated.

LensFix CI
Jun 10 2008

DANNYMONTANI  Ok, what's happening here.My comment post from last night has been pulled from the reviews for no reason.

Yesterdays download of LensFixCI v4.4.1 gave me v4.3. I installed it and it quits upon launching with a small 56k .jpg, then a 1.3mb .jpg and then a 10.9mb .nef from a Nikon D40x. It automatically sent reports to Apple. Each try netted the same quit.I am thourly knowledgeable, running 10.5 on a Mac Pro G5, 3G, and need it for PS CS3 asap for about 200 images.

Now, late night I went to the competition's site PTLens, (www.epaperpress.com) and found them to be the initiator of the two programs 'Lens databases'. I downloaded his software v1.0.4 which is almost the same interface. It installed fine and works just fine. It is also half the price at $15.

I see that I will have to make an action script to do batch processing of my images. Should be no sweat. I praise Tom Nieman for his good work.

DANNYMONTANI  Like it says; this version is for OS 10.4 TIGER. You can get the OS 10.5 LEOPARD version from the developers website. It is a nightly build 1.9.0 as the previous comment, but it is in French. I had installed Leopard last night with no problems on my new Intel MacPro QuadCore 2.66, however everything was running sluggish compared to Tiger. So... my wife's French got us through the install and running of Onyx. It did seem to help speed things along, and has abated my fears of something fishy with the update. I love this lil piece of work. Thanks guys. Peace
