The G3 processor is ancient; expecting it to be supported these days, especially by media SW is just not reasonable (IMHO). VLC can open WMV files but I'm not sure if it supports the G3 architecture; worth a go perhaps?

ILGAZ Video/audio decompression relies heavily to Altivec/SSE. G3 lacks that unit. You should at least upgrade to G4 somehow. G3 is really really outdated and not suitable for that kind of use. I'd give a shot to mplayer, that is the only thing one can try on such configuration but no guarantees of magic.

CUNEYT Thanks to JonnyGozy: I think I've figure out a solution for this problem. If you click on the mail icon, then hold down command and option keys while clicking on preferences in the drop down box, you will be prompted with a box that has a key and value prompt. Type "AutocheckInterval" under key (this seems to be case-sensitive) and then under value type in the number in minutes of how often you want it checked. You will need to quit out of the notifier (again found in the drop down box under the mail icon) and then run the app again for your change to take effect. I typed in 1 and it is checking every minute or so now for me. I hope this works for everyone else too.

You just described exactly what I had with my Mac OS, Sticky Windows is off system for now, but I still have a onetime/single crash of my Dock each time just right of after starting up, when all the menubar icons load.. my Dock disappears for a couple of seconds and then comes back with no further consequences. I am sure its a crash because when I search CrashReporter with Spotlight I find a file called Dock.crash.log

ERUSSELL I had same problem... took days to identify. After the Intel security patch abut 4 days (@12/20) ago now my dock started disappearing (and then reappearing on its own) on first mouse click. That was the obvious issue but it broke further mouse clicks frequently, couldn't select properly, various unexpected behaviors. Finally deleted Stickie Windows (other apps too but it was the one after which the system worked). Then downloaded and reinstalled thinking maybe SW had been updated. Same problem. Now off system. I like the program have used it for years, but it needs updating now.

RANWALLACE I don't suggest downloading this update at all. After downloading the update, my dock disappears with each mouse click. Programs are locking up and force quit doesn't work. My cursor is jumping all over the screen. Called Apple, I may have well just been talking to the idiots at Dell Tech. support. They act like you are an idiot because you are having a problem. And don't forget it's never the OS. It's my fault. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear from you. Meanwhile I am on Dell.com looking at the Notebooks. I am ready to ditch this Mac.

CUNEYT I am running 10.4.11 on an iBook G3 700 MHz PPC.. I am very much up to date with all other software, I have the latest Quicktime and so on.. I had no problems with Flip4Mac, until the latest version 2.2.1.11.. I regularly watch TV shows I missed back on the internet. I never had problems before but with the latest Flip4Mac the video becomes not clear but you see blurry all the time, I went back to 2.1.3.10 and that is working just fine for me for now. for example, check this one out with (2.1.3.10) and also with (2.2.1.11..) installed http://player.omroep.nl/?aflID=8253696

CUNEYT In the latest version (0.3) there is a problem with the cooperation of SafariTabs with one of the functions of the Saft plugin. With Saft installed when you quit a tab in Safari you can restore/reopen it back with command+Z (its called Restore Closing Tab).. In the previous version of SafariTabs there was no problem. But in version 0.3 when you choose Restore Closing Tab or use shortcut command+Z it opens the same Tab/same webpage 2 times in stead of just 1 time. I hope you can fix this issue, in the previous version there wasnt a problem like this one..

STU02 OK, I've provided a fix for this issue. Version 0.3 introduced undo support for closed tabs and going on your description of Saft's undo support its basically providing the same functionality. That means when both plugins (SafariTabs and Saft) are installed then pressing cmd-Z (undo) to restore a tab will execute both SafariTabs and Saft's code resulting in 2 new tabs as you described. Its not really a fix but I've added a new option in the plugin's preference pane to enable/disable tab undo support depending on whether you have Saft insatlled. I currently don't have Saft installed on my system but I'm pretty sure the fix will work. I've made the new version available on my site and not MacUpdate as of now until I'm sure the fix works. I'd appreciate it if you would try it out and let me know how it works. | |

CUNEYT I have a huge problem. I wanted to install Windows Vista on my Macbook Core2duo. I succeeded in doing that. Windows Vista runs perfectly.. The only bad thing is, that I cant get into OSX anymore.. I am getting a Kernel Panic all the time when starting up (grey screen with apple gives a Kernel Panic) The first Kernel Panic started actually when I placed the Windows Vista DVD in Apple Boot Camp and chose for Start Installation. This gave a Kernel Panic, but I managed to install windows vista by forcing a restart with the powerbutton on my MacBook.. This Kernel Panic could have do something with the fact that I gave the Windows Partition 32 Gb.. Before that I installed like 5 times in my life Windows XP SP2 on the same MacBook, each time giving the Windows Partition 20 Gb.. Never had problems in the past.. This Kernel Panic could also be caused by the fact that I didnt do a firmware update.. Now I want to do a clean install. I put the DVD in it, started up from it.. First I get the grey screen with the Apple and then I come in a blue screen and stay in that screen forever.. Can someone please help me out.. It is very urgent for me to solve this... Thank you very much..

If you have already screwed up your Mac via using Enabler on Mac 10.8 you don't have to reinstall mac os, as thought earlier. IF there is another mac available, put the bugged mac in target disk mode, and copy core services from /Volume/System/ to the bugged computer, this will allow you to get back into your system. Please note that you time and network settings will be gone, but this is a whole lot easier than archive and install. Hope this helps.
