QuicKeys X
Jun 4 2009
*****

CEMACSOFT  I have tried to force myself to use a competitor application for years (didn’t know of QuicKeys till very recently), and ended up with a couple of poor macros that sometimes worked...

I have discovered QuicKeys X just two weeks ago, and I already have 20 complex reliable macros that I use many times a day. There are some features that I'd like to see to facilitate the organization (i.e. folders for shortcuts and abbreviations), but the application is simply outstanding. It's not cheap, but given the amount time it can save I have already placed my pre-order.

KryptoSpace
Nov 9 2008

CEMACSOFT  Given the increasing workload of my day job, I cannot maintain and support KryptoSpace as I should, and I have decided to discontinue the product. This wasn't an easy decision, and most of all I didn't want to leave paying customers without an alternative solution.

The alternative solution is a new product called Espionage (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/29384/espionage); this product is similar to KryptoSpace, but it offers more features and it is better integrated with the system. I have contacted the developer of Espionage, and he kindly agrees to give a discount to all the owners of KryptoSpace.

If you have purchased KryptoSpace KryptoSpace on or after October 10, 2008, feel free to request a full refund.

CEMACSOFT  The product has been tested under Leopard Intel and Tiger PPC; unfortunately I do not have a machine running Leopard PPC at the moment. I hope to get one in about two weeks.

That being said, KryptoSpace should work as expected under Leopard PPC, and no users raised this issue to the support.

Could you contact "support AT cemacsoft DOT com" with more details? In particular it would be useful if you could provide:

* A short description of what you are doing and of the error;

* The error message in the Console log (do not hesitate to ask if you need more details about this).

All the best,

CeMacSoft

CEMACSOFT  Very useful. I used to use MagiCal, but I really missed the iCal events. This perfectly fills the gap.

CEMACSOFT  Looks interesting, especially since it seems to manage PDF and Word files. I'll definitely give it a try. The first impression: it is extremely fast!

CEMACSOFT  I have not localized my applications because it's quite cumbersome using the tools available in Xcode. I tested this formerly and really liked it, though it is expensive. At the promo price, I will definitely get it!

CEMACSOFT  I have tried this software and it is great. It works out of the box as expected and handles correctly all Mac-specific files (i.e. DS_Store, resource forks, bundles, etc.). Astonishing if you consider that it's still in beta.

The possibility to have encrypted backups on S3 is very nice, and the price is completely honest (I mean the proposed price for the first official release).

CEMACSOFT  Well, to be honest, I do not like it either... It is the first thing I found which was not too bad, and I'm definitely not an artist. I'll try to find something better, promise, but I first wanted to include some more functionalities.

Anyway, if you want to change the icon just change the file MenuIcon.gif in the Resource folder of the bundle. One thing only: the file must have the same name and be a gif. And if you have a good one and want to send it over, I'd be glad to replace the awful gray thing!

CEMACSOFT  Thanks for this feedback.

Your comment are very interesting and I'll try to release a new version addressing all of them next week.
